     USB Cradle Indicator Lamps
    The USB cradle has two indicator lamps: a [CHARGE]
    lamp and a [USB] lamp. These lamps light and flash to
    indicate the current operational status of the USB cradle
    and camera.

    subject on which you want to focus is located
    inside the focus frame.

    1) Camera powers down before the save
    operation is complete.
    2) Removing the memory card before the save
    operation is complete.
    Recording a very brightly lit subject can cause a
    vertical band to appear in the monitor screen
    image.
    The subject is outside the shooting range of the
    camera.
    Sensitivity is increased automatically for dark
    subjects. Greater sensitivity increases the chance
    of digital noise.1) Focus the image (page 77).
    2) Use Auto Focus for scenery and portrait shots.
    3) Use the Macro mode () for close-ups.

    When the battery indicator shows “”, charge
    the battery as soon as possible (page 33).2) Do not remove the memory card before the
    save operation is complete.
    This is a CCD phenomenon known as “vertical
    smear”, and does not indicate malfunction of the
    camera. Note that vertical smear is not recorded
    with the image in the case of a snapshot, but it is
    recorded in the case of a movie.
    Record within the allowable shooting range.
    Use a light or some other means to illuminate the
    subject.

    Circuit problem caused by electrostatic charge,
    impact, etc. while the camera was connected to
    another device.
    USB communication is in progress.
    1) Camera is not set securely on the USB cradle.
    2) USB cable is not connected securely.
    3) USB driver is not installed.
    4) Camera is turned off.Position the camera so sunlight does not shine
    directly into the lens.
    This camera cannot display non-DCF images
    recorded onto a memory card using another digital
    camera.
    Remove the battery from the camera, reinsert it,
    and then try again.
    After confirming that the computer is not
    accessing camera memory, disconnect the USB
    cable.
    1) Check the connection between the camera and
    USB cradle.
    2) Check all connections.
    3) Install the USB driver on your computer (page
    180).
    4) Press the [USB] button on the USB cradle.

    If you have problems installing the USB driver...
    You may not be able to install the USB driver properly if you use the USB cable to connect the camera to a computer running
    Windows 98SE/98 before installing the USB driver from the bundled CD-ROM, or if you have another type of driver installed.
    This will make it impossible for the computer to recognize the digital camera when it is connected. If this happens, you will
    need to re-install the camera’s USB driver. For information about how to re-install the USB driver, see the USB driver’s “Read
    me” file on the CD-ROM that comes bundled with the camera.

    Display Messages
    Battery is low.
    Cannot correct
    image!
    Can not find the file.
    Cannot register any
    more files.
    Card ERROR
    The battery is dead.
    Keystone correction cannot be performed for some
    reason. The image will be stored as-is, without
    correction (page 93).
    The camera cannot find a image specified by the
    slideshow “Images” setting. Specify another image
    (page 133).
    •You are attempting to save a BEST SHOT scene
    when there are already 999 scenes in the
    “SCENE” folder, or when there are already 999
    scenes in the “MSCENE” folder (page 89).
    •You are attempting to copy a FAVORITE file
    when the “FAVORITE” folder already contains
    9999 files (page 150).
    Some problem occurred with the memory card.
    Turn off the camera, and remove and then reinsert
    the memory card. If the same message appears,
    format the memory card (page 166).
     IMPORTANT! Formatting the memory card deletes all files on
    the memory card. Before formatting, try
    transferring recoverable files to a computer or
    some other storage device.
    Check connections!
    File could not be
    saved because
    battery is low.
    Folder cannot be
    created.
    LENS ERROR
    Load paper!
    Memory Full
    No Favorites file!
    •You are attempting to connect the camera to a
    printer while the camera’s USB settings are not
    compatible with the USB system of the printer
    (page 160).
    •You are attempting to connect to a computer that
    does not have a USB driver installed (page 180).
    The battery is dead, so the recorded image could
    not be saved.
    This message appears when you try to record an
    image while there are 9,999 files stored in the
    999th folder. If you want to record more files,
    delete files you no longer need (page 145).
    If the lens comes into contact with some obstacle
    while it is extending, this message appears, the lens
    retracts, and the camera turns off. Take action to
    remove the obstacle, and try turning on power again.
    The camera is in the Printer mode, and the printer
    is out of paper.
    Memory is full. If you want to record more files,
    delete files you no longer need (page 145).
    There is no FAVORITE file.

    One of the following problems occurred during
    printing.
    •Printer power off
    •Printer internal error
    Image compression could not be performed during
    image data storage for some reason. Record the
    image again.
    The camera is in the Printer mode, and the printer
    is running low on ink or is out of ink.
    Your camera system is corrupted. Contact your
    retailer or a CASIO service center.
    The LOCK switch of the SD memory card is locked.
    You cannot store images to or delete images from
    a memory card that is locked.
    There are no files in built-in memory or on the
    memory card.
    There are no DPOF settings specifying images and
    the number of copies of each for printing.
    Configure the required DPOF settings (page 172).
    The image or movie whose setup you are trying to
    save is not supported by BEST SHOT.
    Printing Error

    SYSTEM ERROR
    The card is locked.
    There are no files.
    There are no printing
    images.
    Set up DPOF.

    The memory card loaded in the camera is not
    formatted. Format the memory card (page 166).
    The image file or audio file is corrupted, or is a
    type that cannot be displayed by this camera.
    You attempted to copy files from built-in memory
    to a memory card loaded in the camera while there
    is no memory card in the camera (page 167).
    The function you are trying to perform is not
    supported for the file on which you are trying to
    perform it.
