    1 Press S.
    2 Open the [Photos] index screen, if it is not displayed.
    [ b ]  [Photos]
    3 Look for the photo you want to play back.
    • Move the zoom lever toward  Q to show 15 photos per page; move it toward  P to show 6 
    photos per page. 
    Operating modes:
    AMemory being read.
    B Drag your finger left for the next index page.*
    C Drag your finger right for the previous index page.*
    D Open the index selection screen ( 090).
    * While browsing through index pages, a scroll bar will appear at the bottom of the screen 
    for a few seconds. When you have a large number of photos it may be more convenient 
    to drag your finger along the scroll bar.

    4 Touch the photo you wish to view.
    • The photo is displayed in single photo view. 
    • Drag your finger left/right to browse through the photos one by one.
    To return to the index screen from single photo view
    1 Touch the screen to display the playback controls.
    2Touch [Q].
    Photo Jump Function
    When you have recorded a large number of photos, you can jump easily through the photos using the 
    scroll bar.
    1 Touch the screen to display the playback controls.
    2Touch [ g].
    3 Drag your finger left and right along the scroll bar and then touch [ f].
    IMPORTANT
    • Observe the following precautions while the ACCESS indicator is on or flashing. Failing to do so  may result in permanent data loss.
    - Do not open the double memory card slot cover.
    - Do not disconnect the power source or turn off the camcorder.
    - Do not change the camcorder’s operating mode.
    • The following image files may not be displayed correctly. - Images not recorded with this camcorder.
    - Images edited on a computer.
    - Images whose file names have been changed.

    Deleting Photos
    You can delete those photos that you are not interested in keeping.
    Deleting a Single Photo
    1 In single photo view, select the photo you want to delete.
    2 Touch the screen to display the playback controls.
    3 Open the screen to delete photos.
    [Edit]  [Delete]
    4Touch [dProceed] and then touch [Yes].
    • The photo is deleted.
    5 Drag your finger left/right to select another photo to delete or touch [ a].
    Deleting Photos from the Index Screen
    1 Open the [Photos] index screen. 
    [b ]  [Photos]
    2 Open the screen to delete photos.
    [Edit]  [Delete]
    3 Touch the desired option and then touch [Yes].
    • When you select [Select], perform the following procedure to select the individual photos you 
    want to delete before touching [Yes].
    • Touch [Stop] to interrupt the operation while it is in progress. Some photos will be deleted  nevertheless.
    4Touch [OK].
    To select individual photos
    1 Touch on the individual photos you want to delete.
    • A checkmark  O will appear on the photos you touch. The total number of selected photos will 
    appear next to the  o icon.
    • Touch a selected photo to remove the checkmark. To remove all checkmarks at once, touch  [Remove All]   [Yes].
    2 After selecting all the desired photos, touch [OK].
    Options
    IMPORTANT
    • Be careful when deleting photos. Deleted photos cannot be recovered.
    • Photos that were protected with other devices cannot be deleted with this camcorder. Operating modes:
    [Select]Select individual photos to delete.

    							Slideshow

    Slideshow
    You can play a slideshow of all the photos and even set it to music.
    1 Open the [Photos] index screen.
    [b ]  [Photos]
    2 Select the background music to use during the photo slideshow.
    • Music tracks: Steps 2 - 3 ( 0111). External audio: Steps 2 - 4 ( 0112).

    3 Touch the photo that will open the slideshow to display it in single photo view.
    4 Touch the screen to display the playback controls, then touch [ A] to play back the 
    slideshow set to the selected music track.

    3 Touch the photo that will open the slideshow to display it in single photo view.
    4 Touch the screen to display the playback controls, then touch [ A] to start the slideshow. 
    5 Start the music playback on the external player.

    • Playback will start from the first photo in the index screen.
    • Photos will be displayed continuously until the music stops. When the external audio input stops,  the slideshow will stop as well.
    During the photo slideshow
    • Touch the screen and drag your finger left and right along the volume bar to adjust the volume.
    • Touch the screen and touch [ C] to stop the slideshow. Hide the playback controls if necessary. 
    To change the slideshow’s transition effects
    1 Open the [Slideshow Transition] screen.
    [MENU]   z  [Slideshow Transition]
    2 Touch [Off], [Dissolve] or [Slide Image] and then touch [ a].

    Copying Recordings to a Memory Card
    To copy your recordings, you must select recordings in the built-in memory or on memory card X. In 
    either case, the recordings will be copied to memory card  Y. Scenes and photos will be copied from 
    the index screen or from a story in the gallery on the source memory to the same index screen or story 
    on memory card  Y.
    Please read the IMPORTANT section ( 0127) before using an Eye-Fi card.
    Copying Scenes from the Date Index Screen
    1 Open the date index screen.
    • Check that you have selected the  f tab (built-in memory) or  4 tab (memory card  X).
    • To copy all the scenes recorded on a specific date, drag your finger left/right until the desired date  appears in the title bar.
    2 Open the screen to copy scenes.
    [Edit]  [Copy ( f97)] or [Copy ( 497)]
    3 Touch the desired option and then touch [Yes].
    • When you select [Select], perform the following procedure to select the individual scenes you 
    want to copy before touching [Yes].
    • Touch [Stop] to interrupt the operation while it is in progress.
    4Touch [OK].
    To select individual scenes
    1 Touch on the individual scenes you want to copy.  • A checkmark  O will appear on the scenes you touch. The total number of selected scenes will 
    appear next to the  o icon.
    • Touch a selected scene to remove the checkmark. To remove all checkmarks at once, touch  [Remove All]   [Yes].
    2 After selecting all the desired scenes, touch [OK].

    Copying Scenes from a Story by Rating
    1 Open the gallery and bring the desired story to the front.

    • Check that you have selected the  f tab (built-in memory) or  4 tab (memory card X ).
    2 Open the [Play by Rating] screen.

    3 Touch the desired rating and then touch [ f] twice.
    4 Open the screen to copy scenes.
    [Story Details]   [Edit Story]   [Copy (f97 )] or [Copy (497)]
    5 Touch [Yes].
    • Touch [Stop] to interrupt the operation while it is in progress.
    • The selected scenes are copied.
    6 Touch [OK] and then touch [ f].
    Copying a Single Photo
    1 In single photo view, select the photo you want to copy.
    • Check that you are viewing photos recorded in the built-in memory or on memory card  X. 
    ( f  or 4 appears next to the photo number.) 
    2 Touch the screen to display the playback controls.
    3 Open the screen to copy photos.
    [Edit]  [Copy ( f97)] or [Copy ( 497)]
    4Touch [ iProceed].
    5 Touch [Yes].
    • The photo is copied.
    6 Drag your finger left/right to select another photo to copy or touch [ a]. 
    Copying Photos from the Index Screen
    1 Open the [Photos] index screen.

    • When copying photos onto an Eye-Fi card in memory card slot  Y, photos will be uploaded 
    automatically if you are within the range of a configured network. Always verify that Eye-Fi cards 
    have been approved in the country/region of use. See also  Using an Eye-Fi card (0 136).
    NOTES
    • In the following cases, you will not be able to copy recordings to the memory card: - If the double memory card slot is open.
    - If the LOCK switch on memory card Y  is set to prevent writing.
    - If there is no memory card in memory card slot  Y.
    • Scenes that were transferred back to the camcorder using the supplied PIXELA’s software cannot  be copied to the memory card.
    • If there is not enough space on memory card  Y, as many photos as possible will be copied before 
    stopping the operation.

    Saving Recordings on a Computer
    Movies recorded with this camcorder are saved in the built-in memory or on a memory card. Because 
    space is limited, make sure to save your recordings on a computer on a regular basis.
    Saving Movies (Windows only)
    With the supplied software Transfer Utility or VideoBrowser  you can save to your computer the 
    scenes you have recorded. Additionally, the supplied software  VideoBrowser offers many options for 
    organizing your video library, editing video, creating discs and more.
    Installation
    Install the software before you connect the camcorder to the computer for the first time. Refer to the 
    Installation Guide (supplied leaflet) and follow the instructions in the Software Guide (PDF file) to install 
    the supplied PIXELA’s software.
    Connecting the Camcorder to a Computer
    1 Power the camcorder using the compact power adapter.
    • If the camcorder is connected to the computer while it is powered only by the battery pack,  previously saved video files cannot be transferred back to the camcorder and music files cannot 
    be transferred from the supplied Camcorder Supplemental Disc to a memory card in the 
    camcorder.
    2 Open the date index screen.
    3 Connect the camcorder to the computer using the supplied USB cable.
    • Connection  D. Refer to Connection Diagrams  (0 119).
    4 Camcorder: Select [All (for PC only)].
    • Camcorder: When the connection is successfully established, [USB Connection] appears on the 
    screen.
    5 Computer: Depending on the software you chose to install, Transfer Utility or VideoBrowser will start up automatically.
    • Transfer Utility:  Click [Video file import] to start transferring files. For details about using the 
    software, click [Help] to open the Software Guide (PDF file).
    • VideoBrowser: Click   in the menu panel to start transferring files. For details about using 
    the software, click   to open the Software Guide (PDF file).

    							Saving Recordings on a Computer

    Saving Photos (Windows/Mac OS)
    With the supplied software Photo Application you can save photos to your computer and easily 
    organize and edit them.
    Installation 
    Install the software before you connect the camcorder to the computer for the first time. See also the 
    relevant sections in the ‘Photo Application’ Instruction Manual (r, PDF file in the 
    [MANUALS_ENGLISH] folder on the supplied Camcorder Supplemental Disc).
    Install the supplied Photo Application software following the instructions in the software’s 
    instruction manual.
    r  Refer to Installing Photo Application.
    First-time connection to a computer running Windows
    Windows users only: The first time you connect the camcorder to the computer, you also need to 
    select the CameraWindow auto-launch setting. 
    r Refer to Starting CameraWindow .
    Connecting the Camcorder to a Computer
    1 Power the camcorder using the compact power adapter. 
    2 Open the [Photos] index screen.
    • Select in advance the memory that contains the photos you want to save.
    3 Connect the camcorder to the computer using the supplied USB cable.
    • Connection D. Refer to  Connection Diagrams  (0 119).
    • Camcorder: When the connection is successfully established, [USB Connection] appears on the  screen.
    4 Save the photos onto the computer.
    r  Refer to  Downloading Still Images to the Computer .
    IMPORTANT
    • When the camcorder is connected to a computer:  - Do not open the double memory card slot cover and do not remove the memory cards.
    - Do not access, change or delete any of the camcorder’s folders or files directly from the computer as this may result in permanent data loss. Always use only the supplied PIXELA’s software to save 
    your movies on the computer and, if necessary, to transfer back previously saved video files to 
    the camcorder.
    • Observe the following precautions while the ACCESS indicator is on or flashing. Failing to do so  may result in permanent data loss.
    - Do not open the double memory card slot cover.
    - Do not disconnect the USB cable.
    - Do not turn off the camcorder or the computer.
    - Do not change the camcorder’s operating mode.
    • When restoring to the camcorder video files that were previously saved to the computer, do not  disconnect the USB cable or turn off the camcorder or computer. Doing so may result in scenes 
    that cannot be played back on the camcorder.

    • Operation may not work correctly depending on the software and the specifications/settings of your computer.
    • If you wish to use the image files on your computer, make copies of them first. Use the copied files,  retaining the originals.
    NOTES
    • Refer also to the computer’s instruction manual.
    • With the supplied software VideoBrowser , you can also choose to save complete stories from the 
    gallery. In such case, all the scenes in the story will be merged and saved as a single video file.
    • Users of Windows 7, Windows Vista, Windows XP and Mac OS X: 
    Your camcorder is equipped with the standard Picture Transfer Protocol (PTP) allowing you to 
    transfer photos (JPEG only) simply by connecting the camcorder to a computer using the supplied 
    USB cable, without having to install the supplied software  Photo Application.
    • If you connect the camcorder to the computer while it is set to   mode, the process of creating  scene thumbnails will start automatically. If your intention was to save photos to the computer, you 
    can touch [Skip] to stop the process and use the computer’s Safely Remove Hardware function 
    (Windows) or Eject function (Mac OS) to end the connection to the camcorder. Disconnect the USB 
    cable, set the camcorder to   mode and restore the connection.
