Troubleshooting 147 7 Paper handling7 First, make sure that you are using paper that meets Brother recommended paper specifications. (See About paperon page 6.) Troubleshooting 149 7 Jam MP Tray (paper jam in the MP tray)7 Jam MP Tray If a paper jam occurs inside the MP tray, follow these steps: aRemove the paper from the MP tray. bRemove any jammed paper from in and around the MP Tray. cFan the paper stack, and then put it back in the MP tray. dWhen loading paper in the MP tray, make sure that the paper stays under the maximum paper height guides on both sides of the tray. eIf the printer does not automatically start printing, press Go. Troubleshooting 150 7 aPull the paper tray completely out of the printer. bUse both hands to slowly pull out the jammed paper. cPut paper below the maximum paper mark. While pressing the green paper-guide release lever, slide the paper guides to fit the paper size. Make sure that the guides are firmly in the slots. dPut the paper tray firmly back in the printer. CAUTION DO NOT take out the standard paper tray while paper is feeding from a lower paper tray as this will cause a paper jam.
