EnglishFrançais Español IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS 1.Read these instructions – for all components before using this product. 2.Keep these instructions – for future reference. 3.Heed all warnings – on the product and in the owner’s guide. 4.Follow all instructions. 5.Do not use this apparatus near water or moisture – Do not use this product near a bathtub, washbowl, kitchen sink, laundry tub, in a wet basement, near a swimming pool, or anywhere else that water or moisture are present. 6.Clean only with a dry cloth – and as directed by Bose Corporation. Unplug this product from the wall outlet before cleaning. 7.Do not block any ventilation openings. Install in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions – To ensure reliable operation of the product and to protect it from overheating, put the product in a position and location that will not interfere with its proper ventilation. For example, do not place the product on a bed, sofa, or similar surface that may block the ventilation openings. Do not put it in a built-in system, such as a bookcase or a cabinet, that may keep air from flowing through its ventilation openings. 8.Do not install near any heat sources, such as radiators, heat registers, stoves, or other apparatus (including amplifiers) that produce heat. 9.Do not defeat the safety purpose of the polarized or grounding-type plug. A polarized plug has two blades with one wider than the other. A grounding-type plug has two blades and a third grounding prong. The wider blade or third prong are provided for your safety. If the provided plug does not fit in your outlet, consult an electrician for replacement of the obsolete outlet. 10.Protect the power cord from being walked on or pinched, particularly at plugs, convenience receptacles, and the point where they exit from the apparatus. 11.Only use attachments/accessories specified by the manufacturer. 12.Unplug this apparatus during lightning storms or when unused for long periods of time – to prevent damage to this product.

WARNING: Do not expose this apparatus to dri pping or splashing, and do not place objects filled with liquids, such as vases, on or near the apparatus. As with any elec- tronic products, use care not to spill liquid s into any part of the system. Liquids can cause a failure and/or a fire hazar d. The lightning flash with arrowhead symbol within an equilateral triangle alerts the user to the presence of uninsulated, dangerous voltage within the system enclosure that may be of sufficient magnitude to constitute a risk of electrical shock. The exclamation point within an eq uilateral trian gle, as marked on the system, is intended to alert the user to the presence of important operating and maintenance instructions in this owner’s guide. 4 EnglishFrançais Español USING YOUR ACOUSTIC WAVE® CONNECT KIT Recommended placement We recommend that you place the dock to the right of your Acoustic Wave® music system II so that your iPod has mi nimal ef fect on FM or AM reception. iPod dock IR sensor ® Acoustic Wave ® music system II IR sensor Be sure the IR sensor on the front of the iPod dock is visible and aligned with the Acoustic Wave system IR sensor so both pr oducts respond to the remote. Connecting the dock Please be sure to make all other connections before plugging these products into a power outlet. Connect the dock to the Acoustic Wave music system II (as shown below) or to the Acoustic Wave Music system with CD changer (as shown on page 5 ). U SING YOUR ACOUSTIC WAVE® CONNECT KIT 6 English Deutsch Français Arabic Español Italiano Thai Nederlands S. Chin Korean Control of your iPod and Acoustic Wave® II system We recommend replacing the remote that came with your Acoustic Wave® II system with this new remote (shown below). Then you can use the new remote exclusively (not the buttons on your Acoustic Wave ® II system), to keep your iPod and system performing together as intended. Note: The remote that came with your Acoustic Wave® system can also be used to control the iPod kit. Use the AUX button on the original remote instead of the iPod button on the new remote. Most of the remote control buttons ar e described in your Acoustic Wave® II system owner’s guide. The remote bu ttons below provide added features. AUX 1-2 Selects the iPod connected to AUX IN on the system. Switches between AUX 1 and 2 on the CD changer. See the CD changer guide for more information. On-Off Turns off iPod.Seek/Track skips one track. Press and hold scans quickly through a track. Tune/Playlist Moves from one playlist to the next. Play/Pause Pauses or resumes iPod play. FM or AM Selects the FM or AM source. Turns off iPod. CD Selects the Acoustic Wave® music system II CD source. Turns off iPod. The response to some remote command s depends on which source (FM/AM/ CD/iPod/AUX) is playing. If the remote does not work as you expect, press the button for that source to reset the intended mode of operation. For use with the CD changer To hear your iPod play, you may need to press the AUX 1-2 button to select the input used to connect the dock. The selected input appears on the CD changer display.

Chin Thai English Korean Nederlands Français Italiano Deutsch Español Docking your iPod Insert your iPod firmly into the dock and make sure it is securely seated in the dock adapter. Your iPod turns on in a paused state and begins charging, as needed. Even if the paused iPod turns off automatically, it continues to charge. If you prefer, you can replace this dock adapter with the adapt er specifically designed for and provided with your iPod. Use a fingernail or a slender tool carefully to pry the adapter free, as shown. Playing your music Be sure to aim the remote so its infrared (IR) signals reach the sensor on the front of the dock. Then use these buttons as follows: Press iPod to turn on your system and begin iPod playback. Press Play/Pause to pause or resume iPod play. Press Tune/Playlist to move from one playlist to another. Press Play to hear that list play. Press Seek/Track once to skip back or ahead one track. Press and hold Seek/T rack to scan through a track. Vo l um e to adjust the sound volume. Your Acoustic Wave ® system is designed to work with an iPod set at full volume. Volume adjustments can be made using the new remote, in stead of using the iPod control. Note: Volume changes using the iPod controls will not affect the Acoustic Wave system volume. Press On-Off once to turn off both products, aiming the remote at the dock until the iPod turns off. Press any source button ( F M-AM or CD) to turn off the iPod and listen to that source. Important note: Having your iPod turned off helps prevent interference when you switch to an FM or AM station.
ProblemWhat to do The remote does not contr ol the iPod. Press iPod to reset the mode of operation for the iPod. You may then need to press Play/Pause to resume play. The iPod is on when it should not be. If the system is off or you are playing an other source, press iPod. Then press On-Off or another source button ( AM/FM or CD). With the remote aimed properly, your iPod should t urn off within 2 seconds. The volume varies when the iPod plays different songs. Use the new remote Vo l um e to set the volume to the level you prefer for a particular song. The recording quality of songs varies, producing inconsistent play volumes. The iPod is connected to the CD changer and it is on but does not play. Be sure the audio cable from the dock is con nected to INPUT AUX 1 on the changer. Press iPo d and check to see that AUX 1 appears on the CD changer display. You may then need to press Play/Pause. The Bose® system speakers play even when headphones are plugged into the dock ed the iPod. Connect the headphones to the mini jack on the Acoustic W ave® system. Chin Korean Troubleshooting If your iPod has four buttons above the touch wheel, it is not compatible with th is Acoustic Wave connect kit.
