Pour t\fe formula into t\fe Tank-in-Tank as s\fown. For convenience, t\fe measuring cup stores on t\fe back of t\fe unit. Do not plug in your cleaner until you have completely assembled it per the following instructions and are familiar with all instructions and operating procedures. C1 - Fill Tank-in-Tank™ Our Tank-in-Tank system is designed wit\f a bladder inside to \fold clean water. As you clean, t\fe bladder will empty. Dirty water collects in t\fe tank outside t\fe bladder. \bOTE: Make sure to add formula to the tank before filling it with water. 1. Depress t\fe \fandle release pedal to lay t\fe mac\fine \fandle down, out of t\fe way. 2. Lift t\fe Tank-in-Tank \fandle. T\fe \fandle locks t\fe lid in place. Carry t\fe Tank-in-Tank like a bucket to fill at t\fe sink. 3. Set t\fe tank down and rotate t\fe \fandle forward to unlatc\f t\fe lid. Lift off and set t\fe lid aside. 4. Using t\fe measuring cup, pour BISSELL deep cleaning formula into t\fe mout\f of t\fe bladder. Do not boil or microwave water as it can destroy t\fe bladder. \bOTE: Fill the bladder with water only. Fill slowly to reduce sudsing. 51. Fill to t\fe bottom of t\fe neck wit\f \fand \fot tap water. 6. Replace t\fe tank lid, matc\fing t\fe lid and tank edges. Rotate t\fe \fandle to carrying position. Replace tank in mac\fine base, seating firmly in place. Rotate \fandle back down to latc\fed position. C2 - Emptying the Tank-in-Tank \bOTE: Remove the Tank-in-Tank, following steps 1 and 2 on page 6. 1. Carry t\fe Tank-in-Tank, like a bucket, to t\fe sink. Remove tank lid. Pour out dirty water. 2. After eac\f use, remove and rinse t\fe lint screen located on t\fe tank lid. a. Remove tank lid, follow step 3 on page 6. b. Remove lint screen and rinse under fauct to remove any debris. c. Insert lint screen back in tank lid. T\fe screen will click into place. d. Replace tank lid. 3. Refill wit\f cleaning formula and clean \fand \fot tap water—follow steps 4 and 5 above. \bOTE: When the cleaning job is complete, rinse out the Tank-in-Tank by running clean water between the bladder and the tank. 4. Return t\fe Tank-in-Tank to t\fe mac\fine, follow step 6 on page 6. 5. Refer to t\fe Maintenance care section on page 9 for final cleanup. C3 - ReadyTools™ dial T\fis provides floor or up\folstery clean-ing wit\f t\fe turn of a dial. For carpet/floor cleaning make sure t\fe dial is set to FLOOR CLEANING. For up\folstery or fabric clean-ing, select your cleaning tool, attac\f it to t\fe flex \fose, and t\fe OXYPowerBrus\f is ready to clean up\folstery, fabrics and more*. *Set t\fe ReadyTools dial to FLOOR CLEANING w\fen cleaning carpets or set it to TOOLS w\fen using t\fe flex \fose attac\fments. C4 - Before you clean carpets 1. Plan activities to give carpet time to dry. 2. Remove easily moved furniture from t\fe room (c\fairs, lamps, coffee tables, etc.). 3. Vacuum t\foroug\fly to pick up loose debris and pet \fair before using t\fe OXYPowerBrus\f. 4. Plan your cleaning route to leave an exit pat\f. It is best to begin cleaning in t\fe corner fart\fest from your exit. \bOTE: You may notice hair and debris deposits on carpet that were loosened by brushing action (especially with newer carpets that have never been deep cleaned before). This debris should be picked up by hand and thrown away. Debris that deposits in the brush belt area should be cleaned out to keep belts running free. \freTreating (optional) Pretreating is recommended to improve cleaning effectiveness for \feavily soiled carpet in \fig\f traffic areas, suc\f as \fallways and stairs. 1. Set t\fe ReadyTools dial to TOOLS. 2 Plug t\fe OXYPowerBrus\f into a proper outlet and turn t\fe power switc\f ON. 3. W\file pressing t\fe spray trigger, slowly make several passes over t\fe area to be cleaned. Caution: Do not overwet. 4. Turn t\fe power switc\f OFF and let t\fe BISSELL advanced deep cleaning formula dissolve t\fe toug\f soil for 1 to \b minutes. \bOTE: Reset the ReadyTools dial to FLOOR CLEA\bI\bG before continuing. www.BISSELL.com7 Some Berber carpets have a tendency to fuzz with wear. Repeated strikes in the same area with an ordinary vacuum or deep cleaner may aggravate this condition. » A special red float device in the tank will cause the cleaner to stop removing solution from the carpet. The motor sound will rise in pitch to let you know the dirty water tank is full. » Deep cleaning carpeting and upholstery regularly can reduce dust and allergens in your home. » Thorough vacuuming before deep cleaning will prevent early clogging of the lint trap.
\bormal cleaning 1. Plug t\fe OXYPowerBrus\f into a proper outlet and turn t\fe power switc\f ON. 2. W\file pressing t\fe spray trigger, make one slow forward and backward wet pass. Let t\fe BISSELL advanced deep cleaning formula and DirtLifter PowerBrus\f do t\fe work for you. Caution: Do not overwet. 3. Release t\fe spray trigger and make one slow forward and back pass over t\fe same area to remove any residual dirty water. 4. Repeat cleaning passes wit\fout press-ing t\fe spray trigger until you can’t see any more water being suctioned up. 5. W\fen cleaning job is complete, refer to t\fe Maintenance and care section on page 9 for mac\fine cleanup and storage instructions. To use the OXY \fowerTool 1. Pull out t\fe rubber stopper in t\fe tank and lay tool on its side. 2. Fill tool wit\f OXYgen Boost formula and replace t\fe rubber stopper. 3. Attac\f tool to mac\fine \fose and clean according to mac\fine instructions. C5 - Cleaning bare floors T\fe bare floor tool provides effective cleaning for linoleum, vinyl, and tile floors. Caution: Do not use on \fardwood \bloors 1. Use only BISSELL Hard Floor Solutions. 2. Vacuum or sweep t\foroug\fly to pick up loose debris and pet \fair 3. Remove easily moved furniture from t\fe room (c\fairs, tables, etc.) 4. Plan your cleaning route to leave an exit pat\f. 5. Plan activities to allow 30 minutes for t\fe floor to dry completely. C6 - Attach the bare floor tool 1. Step on t\fe \fandle release to lay t\fe mac\fine \fandle down. 2. Remove t\fe Tank-in-Tank from t\fe mac\fine base. 3. Lift t\fe mac\fine base to expose t\fe underside of t\fe nozzle. 4. Attac\f bare floor tool to nozzle wit\f long tab to t\fe rig\ft side (ReadyTools side) of t\fe nozzle. 5. First attac\f left side (s\fort tab) catc\fing tab over nozzle edge. 6. Gently bend long tab (rig\ft side) outward to easily snap over edge of clear nozzle on left. Machine preparation 1. Set up mac\fine following instructions on pages 6. Be sure to t\foroug\fly rinse out any remaining BISSELL advanced deep cleaning formula from t\fe Tank-in-Tank to prevent slippery linoleum, vinyl, and tile floors. Use BISSELL Hard Floor Solution in t\fe Tank-in-Tank. 2. C\feck ReadyTools dial - it s\fould be set on FLOOR CLEANING. 3. Plug into a proper outlet and turn power switc\f ON. Bare floor cleaning technique 1. Slowly move t\fe mac\fine nozzle wit\f bare floor tool forward and back over soiled surface one time w\file pressing t\fe spray trigger. Caution: Do not over wet. 2. Repeat t\fe motion wit\fout pressing t\fe spray trigger, using t\fe bare floor tool to squeegee and suction up t\fe dirty water. 3. Repeat steps 1 and \b backing along t\fe exit pat\f. 4. Allow about 30 minutes for t\fe floor to dry completely. 5. W\fen t\fe cleaning job is complete refer to t\fe Maintenance and care section on page 9 for mac\fine cleanup and storage instructions 6. To remove bare floor tool gently bend long tab (rig\ft side) outward and pull tool down away from nozzle. Rinse t\foroug\fly, dry and store. C7 - Cleaning upholstery and small areas Important–Check upholstery tags. 1. C\feck manufacturer’s tag before cleaning. A “W” or “WS” on t\fe tag means you can use your OXYPowerBrus\f. If t\fe tag is coded wit\f an “X” or “S” (wit\f a diagonal strike t\froug\f), or says “Dry Clean Only,” do not proceed. Do not use your OXYPowerBrus\f on velvet, silk, 100% cotton up\folstery, vinyl or leat\fer. If manufacturer’s tag is missing or not coded, c\feck wit\f your furniture dealer. 2. C\feck for colourfastness in an inconspicuous place. 3. If possible, c\feck up\folstery stuffing. Coloured stuffing may bleed t\froug\f fabric w\fen wet. 4. Plan activities to give up\folstery time to dry. 5. Vacuum t\foroug\fly to pick up loose debris and pet \fair. Use a vacuum wit\f a brus\f attac\fment and a crevice tool to clean in fabric folds and tufts. www.BISSELL.com 8
C8 - Machine preparation 1. Set up t\fe mac\fine following instructions on pages 6-9. 2. Using t\fe measuring cup provided, pour any BISSELL advanced deep cleaning formula into t\fe Tank-in-Tank. 3. Set t\fe ReadyTools dial to TOOLS. D Care & Storage 1. Turn power switc\f OFF. 2. Unplug power cord from outlet and coil cord around Quick Release Cord Wrap. 3. Remove and rinse tools in clean, running water, let dry and replace in tool caddy. 4. Coil flex \fose t\froug\f storage brackets. 5. Remove Tank-in-Tank. Dispose of dirty water. See t\fe Operation section, page 7. 6. Rinse out Tank-in-Tank, clean t\fe lint screen and reseat t\fe tank onto t\fe mac\fine. 7. Wipe all exterior surfaces wit\f a soft clot\f. 8. Store cleaner uprig\ft in a protected, dry area. 9. W\fen carpet is dry, vacuum again to remove \fair and fuzz t\fat t\fe OXYPowerBrus\f may \fave loosened. \fump & brush belt replacement 1. Turn t\fe power switc\f OFF and unplug from wall outlet. \b. Step on \fandle release pedal and recline \fandle on floor. 3. Remove t\fe Tank-in-Tank and set aside. 4. Remove t\fe belt access door located near t\fe ReadyTools Dial. Insert a flat\fead screw-driver into t\fe slot nearest t\fe \fandle to gently pry off t\fe belt access door. 5. Turn t\fe mac\fine onto its side so t\fe belt access area is facing upward. 6. On t\fe bottom of t\fe mac\fine, near t\fe belt access area, is a red retainer plate t\fat \folds t\fe black brus\f arm and brus\f in place. Using a P\fillips \fead screwdriver remove t\fe screw t\fat \folds t\fe red retainer plate in place. Set red retainer plate and P\fillips \fead screw aside. 7. Remove t\fe black brus\f arm t\fat \folds t\fe brus\f in place. Set t\fe black brus\f arm aside. 8. Remove t\fe “toot\fed” brus\f belt from t\fe brus\f t\fen from t\fe red pump pulley. Set t\fe “toot\fed” brus\f belt and brus\f aside. 9. Locate and remove t\fe broken pump belt. D2 - Install the replacement pump belt 1. Wit\f t\fe unit still on its side, loop one end of t\fe replacement pump belt around t\fe red pump pulley and t\fe ot\fer end around t\fe silver motor s\faft. Do not twist t\fe replacement pump belt. 2. Re-install t\fe “toot\fed” brus\f belt first onto t\fe red pump pulley and t\fen onto t\fe “toot\fed” end of t\fe brus\f. 3. Re-install t\fe brus\f into t\fe base of t\fe unit. 4. Place t\fe black brus\f arm onto t\fe brus\f and slide black brus\f arm into original position. 5. Re-install t\fe red retainer plate and P\fillips \fead screw. 6. Using your finger, gently spin t\fe replace-ment pump belt on t\fe silver motor s\faft. If assembled correctly, t\fe replacement pump belt s\fould rotate freely around t\fe silver motor s\faft and drive pulley wit\fout obstruction. T\fe brus\f s\fould also rotate freely w\fen t\fe silver motor s\faft is turned. 7. Turn t\fe mac\fine rig\ft side up. Replace t\fe Tank-in-Tank and belt access door. Assembly is now complete. If necessary, insert t\fe blade end into t\fe upper slot to release t\fe upper snap. Examine t\fe belt for breakage. You s\fould be able to see t\fe pump belt looped around t\fe motor s\faft. If it is broken or missing, please refer to Replacement Parts on page 19 before calling BISSELL Consumer Care. Complete installation instructions will accom-pany t\fe replacement belt. DirtLifter \fowerBrush does not turn T\fe brus\f belt or pump belt may be broken.Turn power switc\f OFF and unplug mac\fine from t\fe outlet. To c\feck if a brus\f or pump belt \fas broken, you will need a flat \fead screw-driver. Insert t\fe blade end into t\fe lower slot of t\fe belt access door to release t\fe lower snap. If necessary, insert t\fe blade end into t\fe upper slot to release t\fe upper snap. Examine t\fe belt for breakage. If broken refer to pages 14-15 OXY \fowerWash is not picking up solution and water ReadyTools Dial may be at t\fe wrong setting for t\fe cleaning job.Set ReadyTools dial to eit\fer Tools or Floor Cleaning. Nozzle window may not be properly attac\fed.Make sure t\fe two tabs on t\fe back of t\fe floor nozzle window are inserted t\froug\f t\fe mating slots in t\fe main \fousing. Re-install if necessary. Tank-in-Tank lid is not properly installed.Re-install lid; refer to t\fe Operation section, page 6. Tank-in-Tank is not properly seated.Tank-in-Tank must be firmly seated to function. Remove and reseat Tank-in-Tank. Poor tool position (\fand \feld attac\fments only).Adjust angle; apply more downward pressure. Tank-in-Tank \fas picked up maximum dirty water.Empty Tank-in-Tank and refill, refer to t\fe Operation section, page 7.
