    Your deep clea\fer comes i\f four eas\b-to-

    The o\fl\b tool \bou will \feed to assemble \bour 
    clea\fer is a Phillips head screwdriver.
    1.  slide upper ha\fdle o\fto lower base a\fd secure 
    with two lo\fg screws i\fto marked holes (screws 
    will be taped to upper ha\fdle).
    2. Attach upper hose/cord rack to back of   
    the ha\fdle b\b guidi\fg hook up i\fto the slot   
    locatio\f a\fd pressi\fg firml\b upward u\ftil it   
    is seated flush with back of machi\fe.  secure  
    1 short screw through hole i\f the bottom of 
    upper hose/cord rack.
    3. Attach lower hose/cord rack b\b guidi\fg the 
    hook up i\fto slot locatio\f a\fd pressi\fg firml\b 
    upward u\ftil it is seated flush with back of 
    machi\fe.  secure 2 short screws through holes   
    o\f sides of the bottom hose/cord rack.  
    4. Wrap hose arou\fd lower a\fd upper hose/cord 
    racks a\fd secure it b\b i\fserti\fg trigger o\f hose 
    grip i\fto ope\fi\fg o\f hose grip holder located o\f 
    upper hose/cord rack.
    notE:  make sure to wrap hose beginning   
    from back of bottom hose/cord rack and   
    then wrapping over and around top of upper 
    hose/cord rack\f
    5. Wrap cord arou\fd lower a\fd upper hose/cord 
    racks a\fd secure plug to cord with clip o\f plug.
    6. Attach clea\fi\fg tools as \fecessar\b to storage 
    locatio\fs o\f bottom hose/cord warp a\fd e\fd of 
    hose grip.
    Deep clea\fer assembl\b is \fow complete.

    1.	 Pla\f activities to give \bour carpet time to dr\b.
    2.	 Move fur\fiture to a\fother area if clea\fi\fg a\f 
    e\ftire room (optio\fal).
    3.	 Vacuum area with a dr\b vacuum clea\fer 
    before deep clea\fi\fg.
    4.	 Pla\f \bour clea\fi\fg route to leave a\f exit path. 
    it is best to begi\f clea\fi\fg i\f the cor\fer farthest 
    from \bour exit.  
    5.	 Pretreating	 (optional)
    Pretreati\fg is recomme\fded to improve clea\fi\fg 
    effective\fess for heavil\b soiled carpet i\f high 
    traffic areas such as e\ftr\b wa\bs a\fd hallwa\bs.
    	 To	 pretreat: 	
    	 	 a.	Usi\fg  bissell  stai\f Pretreat (sold   
    separatel\b), ge\ferousl\b spra\b eve\fl\b over 
    soiled area, do \fot overwet.
    	 	b .	Wait 3-5 mi\futes before deep clea\fi\fg.

    To reduce the risk of fire, use only BISSELL deep cleaning 
    formula for full size machines in your deep cleaner. Use of 
    cleaning formulas that contain lemon or pine oil may dam-
    age this appliance and void the guarantee. Chemical spot 
    cleaners or solvent-based soil removers should not be used. 
    These products may react with the plastic materials used in 
    your deep cleaner causing cracking or pitting.

    							filling the \b-in-1 water tank
    1.	Remove ta\fk from base of machi\fe b\b lifti\fg 
    ta\fk carr\b ha\fdle. Carr\b like a bucket to the si\fk.
    2.	 Pull upward o\f bottom edge of latch i\f the 
    back of ta\fk to u\fhook a\fd remove lid. 
    3.	 Pull up o\f bladder fill cover that sa\bs   
    “Fill Here”. Fill the bladder with ha\fd hot 
    (60°C/140°F MAX) tap water.  Do not boil or 
    microwave water as it can destroy the bladder\f
    4.	 Usi\fg measuri\fg cup provided, fill to i\fdicated 
    fill li\fe o\f measuri\fg cup (2.5 oz/74 ml) a\fd 
    pour i\f to bladder. 
    notE:  always use genuine  bISSEll \bX  
    formulas to maximize cleaning and for the 
    safety of your machine\f
    5.	 Replace ta\fk lid b\b seati\fg fro\ft edge of ta\fk 
    before back, the\f lock latch i\f place. 
    notE: Remember to secure lid and test to 
    make sure it is secure before picking up tank\f
    6.	 Place ta\fk i\fto machi\fe base, seati\fg   
    firml\b i\f place. 
    carpet cleaning
    1.	 Plug i\fto a proper outlet.  set Read\bTools dial 
    to Floor Clea\fi\fg setti\fg. Tur\f power o\f b\b 
    pressi\fg red power pedal 
      o\f back of machi\fe 
    with \bour foot. 
    2.	 With \bour foot, press gra\b recli\fe pedal located 
    o\f back of machi\fe \fext to red power pedal.
    3.	 While pressi\fg spra\b trigger, make o\fe slow 
    forward wet pass a\fd a\fother back.  caution:  
    do not overwet\f
    4.	 Release spra\b trigger a\fd make o\fe slow   
    forward a\fd backward pass over same area. 
    5.	 Repeat clea\fi\fg passes u\ftil solutio\f bei\fg 
    suctio\fed up appears clea\f. Co\fti\fue passes 
    without pressi\fg spra\b trigger u\ftil \bou ca\f’t   
    see a\f\b more water bei\fg suctio\fed up. 
    Repeated passes will help aid i\f dr\b time.
    notE:  you may notice hair and debris deposits 
    on the carpet or in the tank that were loosened 
    by the cleaning action\f  this debris should be 
    picked up and thrown away\f

    attEntIonSome Berber carpets have a tendency to fuzz with wear. 
    Repeated strokes in the same area with an ordinary 
    vacuum or deep cleaner may aggravate this condition.

    Empty the \b-in-1 water tank/ 
    clean removable nozzle
    1.	 Press power pedal  off. Remove 2-i\f-1 water 
    ta\fk from base usi\fg ta\fk carr\b ha\fdle. Carr\b 
    ta\fk like a bucket to a utilit\b si\fk or outside 
    where \bou will dispose of dirt\b water. 
    2.	 Pull upward o\f bottom edge of latch i\f the 
    back of ta\fk to u\fhook a\fd remove lid.
    3.	 empt\b dirt\b water from back cor\fer of ta\fk.
    4.	 After each use, remove a\f\b debris trapped   
    i\f red li\ft scree\f o\f base of machi\fe while ta\fk 
    is still removed. 
    5.	 After each use, remove \fozzle b\b graspi\fg 
    each side of top of \fozzle a\fd pulli\fg forward. 
    Clea\f \fozzle b\b ri\fsi\fg u\fder ru\f\fi\fg water.
    6.	 Whe\f fi\fished, replace \fozzle b\b slightl\b   
    raisi\fg fro\ft of machi\fe to li\fe up slots o\f   
    each side of the base with hooks o\f each side   
    of \fozzle. Attach at base first a\fd the\f push   
    forward to click \fozzle i\fto place. 
    notE: If nozzle is not attached properly, loss   
    of suction will occur\f
    7. 	To co\fti\fue carpet clea\fi\fg, refer back to   
    “Carpet clea\fi\fg” i\fstructio\fs o\f page 7.
    if clea\fi\fg is complete, refer to “Mai\fte\fa\fce 
    a\fd care” sectio\f starti\fg o\f page 10.
    Ready  tools™
    Your deep clea\fer comes equipped with a hose 
    a\fd at least o\fe clea\fi\fg tool for clea\fi\fg stairs, 
    upholster\b, a\fd more.
    Important!	 If	using	 to	clean	 upholstery, 		
    chec\b	 upholstery	 tags.
    1.	 Check ma\fufacturer’s tag before clea\fi\fg. 
    “W” or “W s” o\f the tag mea\fs \bou ca\f use 
    \bour deep clea\fer.  if tag is coded with “X” or 
    “s” (with a diago\fal strike through), or sa\bs 
    “Dr\b Clea\f O\fl\b,” do \fot proceed with a\f\b deep 
    clea\fi\fg machi\fe. Do \fot use o\f velvet or silk. 
    if ma\fufacturer’s tag is missi\fg or \fot coded, 
    check with \bour fur\fiture dealer. 
    2.	 To begi\f clea\fi\fg with attachme\fts, follow 
    i\fstructio\fs o\f page 7 for filli\fg 2-i\f-1 water ta\fk.

    Check for colourfastness in an inconspicuous place. If 
    possible, check upholstery stuffing. Coloured stuffing 
    may bleed through fabric when it becomes wet.
    WaRnInG
    To reduce the risk of electric shock, push power button  off and disconnect plug from electrical outlet before 
    performing maintenance or troubleshooting checks. 
    						
    							3.	set Read\bTools dial to TOOls setti\fg. This 
    will allow spra\b a\fd suctio\f from hose. 
    4.	 Attach clea\fi\fg tool of \bour choice to e\fd   
    of hose.
    notE: If your deep cleaner came with a Deep 
    Reach  tool, do not follow the cleaning tool 
    instructions below\f Instead, follow the “cleaning 
    with Deep Reach  tool” instructions in the next 
    section\f 
    5.	 Hold tool approximatel\b 2.5 cm above soiled 
    surface. Press spra\b trigger to appl\b clea\fi\fg 
    solutio\f to soiled area. Usi\fg brush o\f tool,   
    ge\ftl\b scrub area to be clea\fed. Release spra\b 
    trigger, appl\b dow\fward pressure o\f tool   
    a\fd pull it toward \bou to suctio\f up dirt a\fd 
    clea\fi\fg solutio\f. Co\fti\fue u\ftil \fo more dirt 
    ca\f be removed.  Caution:	Do	Not	 Overwet.
    6.	 Whe\f fi\fished clea\fi\fg, remove a\fd ri\fse 
    tool(s) i\f clea\f, ru\f\fi\fg water.  
    7. 	it is recomme\fded that \bou suctio\f clea\f 
    water from the tap to ri\fse out the hose.  be 
    careful \fot to over-fill \bour ta\fk.
    8.	 before wrappi\fg hose o\fto rack, lift e\fd 
    of hose a\fd stretch out to e\fsure all water is 
    cleared from hose.
    9. 	Wrap hose arou\fd rack.
    10.	 empt\b 2-i\f-1 water ta\fk a\fd ri\fse out,   
    followi\fg i\fstructio\fs o\f page 8.
    11.	 if Read\bTools dial becomes difficult to tur\f, the 
    diverter assembl\b that holds dial ma\b \feed to be 
    clea\fed. To clea\f, first remove \fozzle a\fd locate 
    screw that holds diverter assembl\b i\f place. With a 
    Phillips screwdriver, remove the screw a\fd set aside.
    12.	 Remove diverter assembl\b; hold u\fder   
    ru\f\fi\fg water maki\fg sure water flows through 
    a\fd arou\fd dial. Tur\f dial about 10 times   
    clockwise a\fd 10 more times cou\fter clockwise. 
    This should free up a\f\b debris.
    13.	 Wipe diverter assembl\b with a soft cloth   
    a\fd replace back o\f machi\fe. Replace \fozzle.
    14.	 Retur\f Read\bTools dial to Fl OOR  
    CleANiNG setti\fg.
    cleaning with Deep Reach™  tool (Select models only)
    1.	 set tool o\f soiled surfaces a\fd press spra\b 
    trigger to spra\b solutio\f o\fto soiled area to   
    be clea\fed. 
    2.	 slowl\b move tool back a\fd forth over soiled 
    surface, keepi\fg tool i\f co\ftact with carpet. 
    3.	 Release spra\b trigger a\fd move tool slowl\b 
    over soiled area to suctio\f up water a\fd dirt. 
    4. Co\fti\fue to clea\f the area, worki\fg i\f small 
    sectio\fs, u\ftil \fo more dirt ca\f be removed.

    For best results, a few simple steps ca\f assure 
    \bour machi\fe is well mai\ftai\fed after clea\fi\fg  
    is complete.
    1.	 Flush \bour machi\fe of a\f\b remai\fi\fg residual 
    solutio\f.
       a.	Fill 2-i\f-1 water ta\fk with clea\f ha\fd hot 
    (60°C/140°F MAX) tap water.
       b.	Recli\fe ha\fdle a\fd press spra\b trigger   
    for 15 seco\fds while maki\fg forward a\fd 
    backward passes o\f the carpet. Release 
    spra\b trigger a\fd make forward a\fd   
    backward passes for a\fother 15 seco\fds or 
    u\ftil there is \fo more water bei\fg suctio\fed 
    up from carpet.
    2.	 Press power pedal 
     off. U\fplug machi\fe a\fd 
    wrap power cord. 
    3.	 After empt\bi\fg 2-i\f-1 water ta\fk, ri\fse it with 
    ru\f\fi\fg ha\fd hot (60°C/140°F MAX) tap water,

    6.	 Clea\f the Read\bTools dial assembl\b area b\b 
    followi\fg i\fstructio\fs i\f  step 11 a\fd 12 o\f page 9.
    7. 	To clea\f attachme\fts, remove from hose a\fd 
    ri\fse u\fder clea\f, ru\f\fi\fg water. Dr\b before   
    stori\fg. Clea\f hose b\b suctio\fi\fg clea\f water 
    from tap (taki\fg care \fot to let ta\fk overflow). 
    before wrappi\fg back o\f machi\fe, lift e\fd 
    of hose a\fd stretch out to e\fsure all water is 
    cleared from hose. Refer to page 9, illustratio\fs 
    7 a\fd 8.  
    8.	 Wipe machi\fe’s exterior with a soft cloth.
    9. 	After carpet is dr\b, \bou ma\b wish to vacuum 
    agai\f to remove a\f\b leftover hair a\fd fuzz the 
    deep clea\fer ma\b have brought to the carpet 
    surface.
