32 How to adjust your monitor Initial setup for playing games You can optimize the monitor to enhance your gaming experience. You might want to start with the following settings. 1. Set the screen refresh rate to 120 Hertz (120 Hz). a. Right-click the desktop and select Screen resolution. Click Advanced settings. To check if the screen refresh rate has been changed, select Menu from the hotkey menu on your monitor, and go to System and Information. Go to Display and Auto Adjustment to optimize the currently displayed image to the screen. If you wish, you can always adjust the screen geometric settings manually using geometry menu items.
