      Using the projector
    EnglishSetting a wall color
    In the situation where you are projecting onto a colo red surface such as a painted wall which may not be 
    white, the Wall Color feature can help correct the pr ojected picture’s color to prevent possible color 
    difference between the source and projected pictures. There are several precalibrated colors to choose 
    from: Light Yellow, Pink, Light Green, Blue, and Blackboard.
    To select wall color:
    1. Press  MENU/EXIT  and then press  /  until the  Display menu is highlighted.
    2. Press  to highlight  Wall Color.
    3. Press  /  to select a wall color to suit the co lor of the surface which you are projecting on.
    Hiding the image
    In order to draw the audiences full attention to the presenter, you can 
    use  ECO BLANK  to hide the screen image. When this function is 
    activated with an audio input connec ted, the audio can still be heard.
    You can set the blank time in the 
    System Setup: Basic  > Operation 
    Settings  > Blank Timer  
    menu to let the projector return the image 
    automatically after a period of time when there is no action taken on the 
    blank screen. The length of time ca n be set from 5 to 30 minutes in 5-
    minute increments.
    If the preset time spans are not suit able for your personation, select 
    Disable .
    No matter 
    Blank Timer is activated or not, you can press any key on the projector or remote control 
    to restore the picture.
    Once ECO BLANK is pressed, the projector  lamp enters Economic mode automatically.
    Locking control keys
    With the control keys on the projector locked, you  can prevent your projector settings from being 
    changed accidentally (by children, for example). When the Panel Key Lock  is on, no control keys on the 
    projector will operate except  Pow e r.
    To lock or unlock the control panel keys:
    1. Press  MENU/EXIT to open the OSD menu and press  /  to highlight the  System Setup: Basic 
    menu.
    2. Press  to highlight  Panel Key Lock and press  /  to toggle the function  On. A confirmation 
    message is displayed.
    3. Press  /  to select Yes and press  MODE/ENTER.
    Freezing the image
    Press FREEZE on the remote control to freeze the image. The word 
    FREEZE will be displayed in the upper left corner of the screen. To 
    release the function, press any key on the projector or remote control.
    Even if an image is frozen on the screen, the pictures are running on the 
    video or other device. If the connecte d devices have active audio output, 
    you will still hear the audio even though the image is frozen onscreen.

    EnglishAdjusting the sound
    The sound adjustments made (such as functions show
    n below) will have an effect on the projector 
    speaker(s). Be sure you have made a correct connection to the projector audio input. See  Connecting to 
    video equipment on page 19  for how the audio input is connected.
    •  Each time when you select a diff erent source, the projector also changes the sound settings to which was 
    last set for that particular source. 
    •  Sound adjustments cannot be made during Quick Search.
    Muting the sound
    To temporarily turn off the sound:
    1. Press  MENU/EXIT  to open the OSD menu and press  /  to highlight the  Source menu.
    2. Press  to highlight  Audio Settings and press MODE/ENTER . The Audio Settings  page is 
    displayed.
    3. Press  to highlight  Mute and press  /  to select  On.
    If available, you can also press MUTE on the remote  control to toggle projector audio between on and off.
    Adjusting the sound level
    To adjust the sound level, press VOLUME+/VOLUME- on the remote control, or:
    1. Repeat steps 1-2 from above.
    2. Press  to highlight Vo l u m e and press  /  to select a desired sound level.
    Turning off the Power On/Off Ring Tone
    To turn off the ring tone:
    1. Repeat steps 1-2 from above.
    2. Press  to highlight  Power On/Off Ring Tone  and press  /  to select Off.
    The only way to change Power On/Off Ring Tone is  setting On or Off here. Setting the sound mute or 
    changing the sound level will not affect the Power On/Off Ring Tone.
    Using the test pattern
    The projector is able to display the gr id test pattern. It helps you adjust 
    the image size and focus on checking  that the projected image is free 
    from distortion.
    To display the test pattern: 
    1. Press  MENU/EXIT  to open the OSD menu and press  /  to 
    highlight the  System Setup: Basic  menu.
    2. Press  to highlight  Test Pattern and press  /  to select  On.

    The projector provides several preset patterns for  various teaching purposes. To activate the pattern:
    1. Press  MENU/EXIT  to open the OSD menu and press  /  to highlight the  Display menu.
    2. Press  to highlight  Teaching Template and press MODE/ENTER .
    3. Press  /  to highlight  Blackboard or Whiteboard .
    4. Press  /  to select the desired pattern and press  MODE/ENTER.

    EnglishSetting the lamp mode
    This projector provides two lamp modes for different purposes:
    You can perform one of the following methods to choose a lamp mode according to your preference.
    Using the remote control:
    1. Press 
    Lamp Mode  on your remote control, the  lamp mode page is displayed.
    2. Press   to highlight your preferred lamp mode and press  MODE/ENTER.
    Using the OSD menu:
    1. Press MENU/EXIT  and then press  /  until the  System Setup: Advanced menu is highlighted.
    2. Press   to highlight  Lamp Settings and press MODE/ENTER . 
    3. Press   to highlight  Lamp Mode and press MODE/ENTER .
    4. Press   to highlight your preferred lamp mode and press  MODE/ENTER.
    A slight variation in the picture  brightness and colors may be observed  during the very short time of 
    switching lamp modes.

    EnglishControlling the projector through a Wired 
    LAN environment
    Wired LAN  allows you to manage the projector from  a computer using a web browser when the 
    computer and the projector are properly co nnected to the same local area network.
    Configuring the Wired LAN
    If you are in a DHCP environment:
    1. Take a RJ45 cable and connect one end to the RJ45 LAN input jack of the projector and the other end 
    to the RJ45 port.
    When connecting the RJ45 cable, av oid coiling and intertwining the cable as it may cause signal noise or 
    interruption.
    2. Press  MENU/EXIT  and then press  /  until the  System Setup: Advanced menu is highlighted.
    3. Press  to highlight  Network Settings and press MODE/ENTER . The Network Settings  page 
    is displayed.
    4. Press  to highlight  Wired LAN and press MODE/ENTER . The Wired LAN  page is displayed.
    5. Press  to highlight  DHCP and press  /  to select On .
    6. Press  to highlight  Apply and press  MODE/ENTER .
    7. Go back to  System Setup: Advanced  > Network Settings  page.
    8. Press  to highlight  AMX Device Discovery  and press  /  to select On or Off . When AMX 
    Device Discovery  is On , the projector can be detected by AMX controller.
    9. Please wait for around 15 - 20 seconds, and then re-enter the  Wired LAN page.
    10. The  IP Address , Subnet Mask , Default Gateway , and DNS Server  settings will be displayed. 
    Note down the IP address displayed in the  IP Address row.
    If the IP Address still does not display, contact your ITS administrator.
    If you are in a non-DHCP environment:
    1. Repeat steps 1-4 above.
    2. Press  to highlight  DHCP and press  /  to select Off .
    3. Contact your ITS administrator for information on the  IP Address, Subnet Mask , Default 
    Gateway , and DNS Server  settings.
    4. Press   to select the item you want to modify and press  MODE/ENTER.
    5. Press  /  to move the cursor and then press  /  to enter the value.
    6. To save the setting, press  MODE/ENTER. If you do not want to save the setting, press  MENU/
    EXIT .
    7. Press  MENU/EXIT  to return to Network Settings  page, press   to highlight AMX Device 
    Discovery  and press  /  to select  On or Off .
    8. Press  MENU/EXIT  to exit the menu.

    motely through a web browser
    Once you have the correct IP address for the projecto r and the projector is on or in standby mode, you 
    can use any computer that is on the same local area network to control the projector.
    1. Enter the address of the projector in the address bar of your browser and click Go.
    2. The remote network operation page opens. This pa ge allows you to operate the projector as if you 
    were using the remote control or control panel on the projector.

    • OK Activates the selected

    (OSD) menu item.
    To switch input source, click on your desired signal.
    The source list varies according to the conn ectors available on the projector. Video 
    stands for the Video signal.

    EnglishThe tools page allows you to manage the projector,  configure the LAN control settings and secure access 
    of remote network operation on this projector.
    i.You can name the projector, keep track of its location and the person in charge of it.
    ii. You can adjust the  LAN Control Settings .
    iii. Once set, access to the remote network op eration on this projector has been password-
    protected.
    iv. Once set, access to the tools pa ge has been password-protected.
    After making the adjustments, press the Send butto n and the data will be saved in the projector.
    v. Press Exit to go back to the remote network operation page.

      Using the projector
    EnglishOperating in a high altitude environment
    We recommend that you activate  High Altitude when your environment is higher than 1500 meters 
    (around 4920 feet) above sea level, or whenever the proj ector will be used for extended periods of time 
    (>10 hours) without shutdown.
    To activate High Altitude:
    1. Press  MENU/EXIT  and then press  /  until the  System Setup: Advanced menu is highlighted.
    2. Press   to highlight  High Altitude.
    3. Press /  to select  On. A confirmation message is displayed.
    4. Highlight  Ye s and press  MODE/ENTER .
    Operation under High Altitude may cause a higher de cibel operating noise level because of increased fan 
    speed necessary to improve overal l system cooling and performance.
    If you use this projector under other extreme conditions  excluding the above, it may display auto shut-down 
    symptoms, which is designed to protect your projector from over-heating. In cases like this, you should 
    switch to High Altitude to solve these symptoms. Howe ver, this is not to state that this projector can 
    operate under any and all ha rsh or extreme conditions. 
    						
    							50 Using the projector  
    EnglishTurning the projector off
    To turn the projector off, press POWER
     ( ) on the projector or 
    OFF    on the remote control and a warning message appears. 
    Press  POWER /OFF  ( ) again.
    •  The Power indicator light flashes orange and the fans run for  about two minutes to cool the lamp. The projector will not 
    respond to any commands until the cooling process is complete.
    After turning off the projector, do  NOT unplug the projector until the 
    cooling process is complete an d the fans stop running. 
    Interrupting the cooling process in any way may cause 
    overheating and result in damage to the projector.
    •  Then, the Power indicator light is a steady orange once the  cooling process has finished and fans stop.
    •  If the projector will not be used for an extended period, unplug  the power cable from the power outlet.
    •  To protect the lamp, the projector will not respond to any  commands during the cooling process.
    •  Actual lamp life may vary due to different environmental 
    conditions and usage.
    •  If you attempt to re-start the  projector shortly after shutdown, 
    the fans may run for a few minutes to cool down. Press   Power/ON again to start the projector after 
    the fans stop and the Power indicator light turns orange.
