21 How to adjust your monitor Hot key mode The monitor keys perform as hot keys to provide direct access to particular functions whenever the menu isnt currently displaying on-screen. Custom key Display Mode hot key Input hot key Press the key to display the functions that can be accessed by this key. Press the or keys to change the settings if needed. To change the default settings, see Custom Ke y on page 3 2 for more information. Press the key continually to switch among Full and Aspect. The setting will take effect immediately. 22 How to adjust your monitor Main menu mode You can use the OSD (On Screen Display) menu to adjust all the settings on your monitor. Available menu options may vary depending on the input sources, functions and settings. Menu options that are not available will become grayed out. Press the MENU key to display the following main OSD menu. The OSD menu languages may differ from the product supplied to your region, see “Language on page 31” under “OSD Settings” for more details. The default value is 3 (the standard value for Windows).Press the key to increase the gamma value (tone becomes darker) and press the key to decrease the gamma value (tone becomes lighter).1 ~ 5
26 How to adjust your monitor Color - Press ENTER to enter the Color menu. Color Temperature Normal: Allows video and still photographs to be viewed with natural coloring. This is the factory default color. Press the or keys to select this option. Bluish: Applies a cool tint to the image and is factory pre-set to the PC industry standard white color. Reddish: Applies a warm tint to the image and is factory pre-set to the news print standard white color. User Mode: The blend of the Red, Green and Blue primary colors can be altered to change the color tint of the image. Go to the succeeding Red, Green, and Blue menus to change the settings.Press the or keys and the ENTER key to select Red, Green, or Blue. Then use the or keys to make the color adjustments. Red Tailors the image color tint. Decreasing one or more of the colors will reduce their respective influence on the color tint of the image. (e.g. if you reduce the Blue level the image will gradually take on a yellowish tint. If you reduce Green, the image will become a magenta tint.)Press the or keys to adjust the value.0 to 100 Green Blue Hue Adjusts the degree of how we perceive colors.Press the or keys to adjust the value.0 to 100 Saturation Adjusts the purity degree of colors.Press the or keys to adjust the value.0 to 100 Reset Color Resets the custom color settings to the factory defaults. The screen will be divided into two windows; the left window demonstrates images of Standard mode, while the right window presents the images under the specified mode.Press the or keys to change the settings.• ON • OFF Dynamic ContrastThe function is to automatically detect the distribution of an input visual signal, and then to create the optimal contrast.Press the ENTER key to select this option. Press the or keys to change the settings.0 to 5 Display Mode This feature is provided to allow aspect ratios other than 16:10 to be displayed without geometric distortion. • Overscan - Slightly enlarges the input image. Use this feature to hide annoying edge noise if present around your image. • Full - Scales the input image to fill the screen. Ideal for 16:10 aspect images. • Aspect - The input image is displayed without geometric distortion filling as much of the display as possible. Press the or keys to change the settings. The options under Display Mode will be different depending on the input signal sources. 29 How to adjust your monitor Color Format Determines the color space (RGB or YUV) based on the following detected video signal: • D-Sub (VGA) from PC: The default Color Format is RGB. • D-Sub (Component) from a video device: The default Color Format is YUV. You might need to manually set the Color Format if colors shown on the monitor screen do not display properly. • DVI (for models with DVI inputs): Color Format is automatically set to RGB.Press the ENTER key to select this option.
