Wool Thesefabricsarelabelledeithermachinewash orhandwash.TheWool/handwashprogramis atleastasgentleaswashingbyhand. Woolisespeciallysensitivetoprocessessuchas washing. Ifyoudonotwishtospindry,youcansqueeze outthewaterusingterrytowels.Inthiscaseselect Nospin. Tofindouthowtochoosethissetting,seethe "Washing"chapter.However,mostgarmentscan withstandashortspin.Chooseashortspinby selectingaspinspeedof800rpmorless. Rayonfibresandsyntheticfibres Materialsmadeofrayonfibres,suchasviscose, andsomesyntheticfibresareverydelicateand requiremuchspacesoasnottocrease.Onlyhalf fillthedrumwhenwashingandchooseaspin speedof800rpmorlower. NOTE! Viscoseandacetatesarefragilewhenwet. Reducingallergicreactions ThewashingmachinehasaSuperRinseoption. Usethisforpeoplewithsensitiveskin,suchas thosewithallergiesandsmallchildren. Savetimeandenergy UsetheColour/Whiteprogramtosavetimeand energy.Thisprogramhasashortermainwash thanNormal,butisoftensufficientforlightlysoiled washing. Economyandefficiency Youcansaveenergybynotusinghigher temperatureprogramsthannecessary. •SelectQuickifyoujustneedtofreshenup shirtsorexerciseclothes,forexample.This willsavebothwaterandenergy. •Ifyouselectafastspinspeed,thisreduces energyconsumptionwhendryinginatumble dryerordryingcabinet. •Alwayswashwithafullloadwhenusingthe Heavy,Colour/WhiteandNormalprograms. •Avoidpre-washing.Modernmachinesand detergentscleaneffectivelywithout pre-washing.Pre-washingisonlynecessary forheavilysoiledwashing. Detergents Eco-labelleddetergentsarelessharmfultothe environment. Detergentoverdosingdoesnotgivebetter washingresults;itmerelycausesagreaterimpact ontheenvironment;canalsohinderthewash performance. Trytouselessdetergent,andincreaseonlyifyou arenotsatisfiedwiththeresults. Dyeingfabrics Ifyouwanttodyefabricsinthemachine,select theColour/WhiteprogramwiththeSuperRinse option.Selecttemperatureaccordingtothedye manufacturer’srecommendations. Choosealowspinspeedifthefabrictobedyed isablendedmaterialsuchas polyester/cotton. NOTE!
