Power Mac G5 (Late 2004) Take Apart - 62 PCI Divider PCI Divider Tools The only tool required for this procedure is a Phillips screwdriver. Preliminary Steps Before you begin, open the computer, lay it on its side with the access side facing up, and remove the following: • All AGP and PCI cards • Airport Extreme Card (if installed) • Heatsink cover • Processor inlet frame • PCI card guide • Speaker/fan assembly • Heatsink cover • Rear exhaust fan assembly Part Location

If no Airport Extreme Card or Bluetooth card was installed in the computer, disconnect their cables from the clips on the PCI divider. 2. Disconnect the modem filter cable from the clip on the PCI divider. 3. Remove the three black mounting screws above the PCI divider and the three black mounting screws below the PCI divider. 4. Slide the PCI divider from under the logic board and remove it from the enclosure.

Remove and replace the logic board and processor as a unit. 1. Disconnect the five cables from the top of the logic board. 2. Disconnect the two power supply cables and the front panel board cable from the bottom of the logic board. 3. Remove the three black logic board mounting screws (indicated by the circles) and the two large black processor mounting screws (indicated by the squares). 5.
