MacBook Pro (15-inch, Late 2008) Take Apart — Right Speaker / Subwoofer 173 2010-06-15 Removal 1 Remove 4 screws: • 2 (3.2-mm), 922-8744 • 1 (5.0-mm) 922-9754 • 1 (2.6-mm), silver, 922- 8747 2 Disconnect speaker cable on logic board. 3 With a black stick, pry up speaker body to loosen adhesive. Note: Pry around edges, or you will damage subwoofer. Replacement Note: If installing a new speaker, peel adhesive backing off speaker and install in top case

If you don’t remove the shim prior to removing the cable, you could damage the logic board and/or the camera cable. Important: Be sure to replace the shim after you reconnect the cable.
