BUILT-IN EffECTS The Radius 3000™ comes with eight built in effects. These effects can be used one at a time or you may choose to overlap the effects and use up to four at a time. The Built-in effects include Scratch, Filter, Echo, Trans, Skid, Phase, Flanger, and Pan. You can choose to use the effects with their default parameters or you may choose to customize each effect by changing the parameters. The parameter values for all the effects will range. Some effects will have more adjustable parameters than oth- ers. The parameters have two adjustable values, PR (Parameter Ratio) and PT (Parameter Time). All parameters will be reset to there default values when power is shut off! ©American Audio® - www.AmericanAudio.us - Radius 3000™ Instruction Manual Page 31 SCRATCH & SKID EFFECT: The Scratch Effect simulates real time turntable scratching. Once the Scratch Effect has been activated the jog Wheel (9) may be used in the same fashion a turntable platter is used. Use the jog Wheel (9) to simulate the scratch motion on a turntable platter and to manipulate playback. Both the Skid and Scratch time parameters can be adjusted from 0010 to 9990. 9990 will give you the longest Skid times. The Skid value ranges from a 10ms to ten seconds. Figure 43 Figure 42 BEAT SELECTION BANKS 6 - Refreshes on 4/1 Beat (every four beats) 5 - Refreshes on 2/1 Beat (every two beats) 4 - Refreshes on 1/1 Beat (every full beat) 3 - Refreshes on 3/4 Beat 2 - Refreshes on the 1/2 Beat 1 - Refreshes on the 1/4 Beat BEAT SELECT BUTTONS (23): These buttons access the preset banks for the parameters. All effects synchronized to the beat. Each effect has a set of six built-in presets and one user programmable pre- set. These presets are accessed by the Beat Select ButtonS (23). To toggle between the banks tap on the arrow buttons. The chart on the side defines the presets.

The FLANGER Effect has two adjustable parameters, Parameter Time (PT) and Parameter Ratio (PR). The PT will adjust the Time Range and The PR will adjust the Frequency Range (see "Parameters" in the next section). BUILT-IN EffECTS Figure 44 ECHO EFFECT: The Echo effect adds an echo to your out- put signal. The Echo effect has two adjustable parameters, Parameter Time (PT) and Parameter Ratio (PR). pARAmETERS: All the effects have adjustable parameters. The parameters change the way the effects will react. To adjust the parameter values for any of the effects, turn either of the two parameter knoBS (25 or 31). When the parameter value is adjusted the VFD display will indicate the parameter adjustment. All effects have two adjustable parameters. parameter time (31) and parameter ratio (25). Use these knobs to customize the effects to your liking. For quick adjustment press and turn either of the knobs. You can also adjust the parameters using the jog wheel. Make sure the jog Wheel (9) is in NORMAL mode, and then press and hold the knob of the paremeter you wish to adjust and turn the jog wheel to make your adjustment. ©American Audio® - www.AmericanAudio.us - Radius 3000™ Instruction Manual Page 33 BUILT-IN EffECTS Figure 48 Figure 51 HOLD BUTTON: Use the hold Button (26) to lock your parameters. If the hold button is not activated any changes to your parameters will be momentary. To activate the hold function press the hold Button (26) as in figure 51. When the hold function becomes activated, the hold button will begin to glow blue. Figure 50 TRANS EFFECT: The Trans effect simulates a real-time mixer transform- er effect. The Trans effect has two adjustable parameters, Parameter Time and Parameter Ratio. The PT will adjust the Trans Speed and The PR will adjust the Trans Audio Length. PAN EFFECT: The Pan effect allows you to pan the output from the left channel to the right channel. The PT will adjust the amount of time the pan effect is in each channel (left and right). The PR will adjust the the time it takes to switch from the left channel to the right channel. Figure 49

You can now turn either the folder knoB (20) to choose a Mp3 Folder or turn the track knoB (19) to search through the Mp3 tracks. 4. When you found your desird track, press the track knoB (19), and the VFD will now display "SEARCHING.....". 5. The VFD will then display "FOUND!!", when your track is located. 1. Press the adV. track Button (18) to enter advance track search mode. 2. When this mode is active, the track indicator (56) will flash. 6. When "FOUND!!" is displayed in VFD, press the track knoB (19) to begin playback of your selected track. If you want to cancel Advanced Track Search without making any changes press the adV Button (18). Use this function to locate a specific track on a audio device, while another track is playing at the same time. Figure 52 Figure 53 Figure 54

Once you are in the internal menu, turn the folder knoB (20) until MIDI SETUP is displayed. 3. Turn the either the time knoB (31) or ratio knoB (25) until the USB = LINK is displayed, and press the folder knoB (20) to save the setting and exit. 4. Now load your USB device into the MAIN PLAYER. 5. Connect the MAIN PLAYER using the rear USB port to the second players top USB port. See Figure 55. 6. You should now be able to access the main players loaded USB device using the second players controls. With this function a USB devide can be loaded into one Radius 3000, and played by a connected Radius 3000. Follow the directions below to setup the link function. This function cannot be used with the CD Player. ©American Audio® - www.AmericanAudio.us - Radius 3000™ Instruction Manual Page 36 DATA BACkUp (DbBUILDER) The Radius 3000 includes a database management soft ware, that will allow you to search for your files by Title, Artist, Album, and Genre. The DbBuilder will scan your USB hard drive and create dB files so that the Radius 3000 can locate your files in your music library by your desired method. The DbBuilder will also allow you to format your hard drive into a FAT format hard drive, which is needed to use on the radius 3000.* To Format a hard drive select the desired hard drive letter on drop down menu, then under tools select format to change the format of a non-FAT formatted hard drive. NOTE: Please rebuild your database management software whenever you change or update the contents of your USB device. * We strongly suggest that you back up all your files in you hard drive device prior to formatting. Since this will result in a loss of all data. See next page for Playlist Operation.

Then turn the knob until "PLAYLIST" is displayed. 2. Turn either the RATIO or TIME KNOBS (25 & 30) to scroll through "Normal/Title/Artist/Album/ Genre" (this is for SD/USB only). Press the FOLDER KNOB (20) to save your desired selection and exit. The database should adjust to your setting. Example: "Artist" is selected, all artists will be in alphabetical order Pushing and turning the FOLDER KNOB will take you to the next letter; so if you are going through the C artists, holding and turning the FOLDER KNOB will skip you up to the D artists. You can turn the FOLDER KNOB, or push the FOLDER KNOB in and turn the JOG WHEEL to jump to the next artist. You can skip through tracks by turning the TRACK KNOB, or by pressing the TRACK KNOB and turning the JOG WHEEL as well.
