    IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS
People with electronic devices, such as pacemakers, should consult their
physician(s) before using this product. Operation of electrical equipment in
close proximity to a heart pacemaker could cause interference or failure of
    the pacemaker.
Some dust created by grinding, drilling, sawing, sanding, and other
construction activities contains chemicals known to the State of California to
cause cancer, birth defects or other reproductive harm. Some examples of
    these chemicals are:
    • Lead from lead-based paints,
    • Crystalline silica from bricks and cement and other masonry products, and
arsenic and chromium from chemically-treated lumber.
Your risk from these exposures varies, depending on how often you do this type
of work. To reduce your exposure to these chemicals: work in a well ventilated
area, and work with approved safety equipment, such as dust masks that are
specially designed to filter out microscopic particles.
Handling the power cord on this product may expose you to lead, a chemical
known to the State of California to cause cancer and birth defects or other
    reproductive harm.
    Wash hands after handling.
SAVE THESE INSTRUCTIONS FOR FUTURE REFERENCE.

    							SAFETY RULES FOR RECIPROCATING SAW
Always wear safety goggles or eye protection when using this tool. Use a dust
mask or respirator for applications which generate dust.
Secure the material being worked on. Never hold it in your hand or across your
legs. Unstable support can cause loss of control and injury.
When using the Reciprocating Saw, always maintain a firm grip on the tool with
both hands.Never put your hands or feet in the cutting area. Do not grasp the tool
or place your hands too close to the blade. Keep your hands well away from the
blade. Never reach underneath the tool while the blade is in motion. Do not use your
legs or feet to stabilize the work piece.
Position yourself to avoid being caught between the tool or side handle and walls
or posts.Should the blade become bound or jammed in the work, it could result in
    loss of control and injury.
Always hold the tool by its insulated gripping surfaces when cutting in areas that
may contain hidden live wiring. If the blade makes contact with a live wire, the
metal parts of this tool may conduct enough electricity to seriously shock the user.Contact with a “live” wire will make exposed metal parts of the tool “live” and shock
the operator. Do not cut or break into existing walls or other blind areas where
electrical wiring may exist. If this situation is unavoidable, disconnect all fuses or
circuit breakers feeding this worksite.Check to see that keys and adjusting wrenches are removed from the saw before
switching the tool “ON”.Keys or wrenches can fly away at high velocity striking
    you or a bystander.
Do not run the Reciprocating Saw while carrying it at your side.A moving blade
    could cause serious personal injury.
Do not use the Reciprocating Saw if it has been damaged, left outdoors in the
rain, snow, wet or damp environments, or immersed in liquid.
Do not use dull or damaged blades.
Keep cutting tools sharp and clean. Properly maintained cutting tools with sharp
cutting edges are less likely to bind and are easier to control.
When restarting a saw in the workpiece, check that teeth are not engaged in
    the material.
Keep the handle of the Reciprocating Saw dry, clean, and free from oil and
    grease.
Be extra careful when cutting in high or hard-to-reach locations.Be on the
lookout for hidden wires and falling debris.
Maintain labels and nameplates on the Reciprocating Saw.These carry important
information. If unreadable or missing, contact Alltrade for a replacement.
    5
    ELECTRICAL SAFETY
Do not abuse the power cord or use a damaged power cord.
Never use the power cord to carry the tools or pull the plug from an outlet.
Keep the power cord away from heat, oil, sharp edges or moving parts.
Replace damaged power cords immediately. Damaged power cords increase
    the risk of electric shock.
    WORK AREA
Make sure that the work area is appropriate and safe to prevent accidents.
Keep your work area clean and well lit. Cluttered work benches and dark work
areas may cause accidents or injury.
Do not operate power tools in explosive areas, such as in the presence of
flammable liquids, gases or dust. Power tools create sparks which may ignite the
    dust or fumes.
Keep bystanders, children and visitors away while operating a power tool.
Distractions can cause you to lose control. Protect others in the work area from
debris such as chips and sparks. Provide barriers or shields as needed.
Do not use this tool in a damp or wet environment.
    TOOL USE AND CARE
Do not use the power tool if the power switch does not
turn it “ON” or “OFF”. Any tool that cannot be controlled with the power switch
is dangerous and must be replaced.
Store idle tools out of reach of children and other untrained persons. Tools are
dangerous in the hands of untrained users.
Disconnect the power cord plug from the power source before making any
adjustments, changing accessories or storing the tool.Such preventive safety
measures reduce the risk of starting the tool accidentally.

    							GENERAL CUTTING
Always hold the saw in front of you and away from your body. Keep your
hands and feet well away from the work piece.
Never feed the blade into the work piece until the blade is at full speed. If
the blade is not at full speed, the saw may kick back causing serious
    personal injury.
Do not force the saw. Excessive force may result in a
broken blade.Use only enough pressure to keep the saw moving through the
    work piece.
    • Put on eye
    protection.
    • Clear the saw of any
    foreign material.
    • Make sure the work piece is held
securely in place. Hold smaller pieces
in a vise or attach to the workbench
    with clamps.
    • Mark out the line to be cut so it is easily visible.
    • Pull the trigger to start the saw.

VARIABLE SPEED TRIGGER SWITCH AND LOCK-ON BUTTON
Never tape the trigger switch down to provide continuous
high speed. The tool may fail under such conditions causing fire or personal
    injury.
    THIS TOOL IS CONTROLLED
    BY A TRIGGER SWITCH:
    • The speed of the Reciprocating
Saw depends on the amount of
    pressure applied on the trigger.
The further the trigger is pressed,
the faster the tool will go.
    • To maintain a certain speed, pull the “On/Off” trigger to turn the Reciprocating Saw
“ON”and engage the lock-on button. To turn the Reciprocating Saw “OFF”,
release the trigger switch. The lock-on button will automatically reset.

Accessories that may be suitable for one tool may become hazardous when used on
    another tool.
Always attach grounded (3-prong) extension cords to grounded (3-hole) outlets.
If you must use an extension cord, be sure that the gauge is large enough to carry
the amount of current necessary for your power tool.If not, your tool may
experience a loss of power, excessive voltage drop or overheating. The smaller the
gauge number, the heavier the cord (see table below).

    MAINTENANCE AND CLEANING
Always UNPLUG the Reciprocating Saw from the power
source before inspecting, performing any maintenance or cleaning.
This Reciprocating Saw is lubricated before it leaves
the factory. This lubrication should last for the life of the tool. No further
    lubrication is required.
Use only mild soap and a damp cloth to clean the tool.Never let any liquid get
inside the casing. Never immerse any part of the tool in a liquid. Always keep the
    ventilation openings clear.
Brushes will wear with use and should be inspected periodically by qualified
    personnel.
Regularly clean the ventilation slots in your tool using only a soft brush or dry cloth.
Never open the Reciprocating Saw case.Do not attempt to repair the
Reciprocating Saw yourself. Opening the case will void your warranty.
    12
    • Mark out the line to be cut
    so it is easily visible.
    • Start inside the area to be
    cut out.
    • Depress the lock-on button
and press the trigger to start
    the saw.
    • Set the shoe against the
    work piece.
    • When the blade reaches full
    speed, slowly feed the blade
    into the work piece.
    METAL CUTTING
Never use gasoline or any flammable liquid as a
lubricant. Sparking from the motor may cause it to ignite into flames.
    • When cutting metals other then
    copper, brass or aluminum,
    always use a lubricant, such
as cutting oil, to keep the
    blade cool. This
    will prolong
    the life of the
    blade as well
    as speeding
    up the cutting
    process.
    • Make sure
    the work
    piece is held
    securely in place.
Hold smaller pieces, such as pipe or conduit,
in a vise or attach to the workbench with clamps.
    • To eliminate vibration, always cut close to the clamping point.
    • When cutting thin sheets of metal, place a piece of plywood on either side to control
    vibration and prevent tearing.
