Allow adequate clearance for moving parts. 2. Do not place near heat sources such as radiators or air ducts, or in a place subject to direct sunlight, excessive dust, high humidity, high temperatures, electromagnetic radiation, mechanical vibration or shock. Good care will help assure maximum product life. Improper operating environment and misuse may void the warranty. Using the HDD Copy Dock A. Duplicating Hard Drives 1. Use the included power adapter and cord to plug the HDD Copy Dock into a power outlet. 2. Insert the SATA Hard Drive you want to copy into the slot marked “SOURCE”. When inserting, align the SATA port on the Hard Drive with the SATA connector in the drive bay slot. 3. Insert the destination SATA Hard Drives into the TARGET slots. When inserting, align the SATA port on the Hard Drive with the SATA connector in the drive bay slot. Note: Make sure the target Hard Drives have the same or higher capacity than your source Hard Drive. The duplication process will not start if a target drive has a lower capacity. Also make sure the unit is not connected to a PC through the USB port. 4. Set the function switch to the duplicate “DUP” position. 5. Power on the HDD Copy Dock. 6. Press the Duplicate button twice. The unit will emit 3 double beeps. The status bar indicator light will begin flashing when the clone process starts. 7. The duplication process is complete when the status bar reaches 100% and stops blinking. 8. Power off the HDD Copy Dock to remove the hard drives. B. Using as a USB HDD Docking Station 1. Use the included power adapter and cord to plug the HDD Copy Dock into a power outlet. 2. Connect the USB Type-A connector or to your computer’s USB Port. Note: The USB 3.0 Type-A connector is also compatible with USB 2.0 ports. 3. Connect the USB Type-B connector to the USB Port located on the back of the HDD Copy Dock. 4. Insert up to 5 SATA Hard Disk Drives into the drive slots on the top of the HDD Copy Dock. When inserting, align the SATA port on the Hard Drive with the SATA connector in the drive bay slot. 5. Set the function switch to “PC” Mode. 6. Power on the HDD Copy Dock. Note: Any unformatted Hard Disk Drive will not show up as a drive in the Windows® Operating System. You must format these drives using the operating system’s tools.
