CARE AND CLEANINGWARNING! Refer to Safety chapters.10.1 Notes on cleaning • Clean the front of the appliance with a soft cloth with warm water and a cleaning agent. • To clean metal surfaces, use a dedicated cleaning agent. • Clean the appliance interior after each use. Fat accumulation or other food remains may result in a fire. The risk is higher for the grill pan. • Clean stubborn dirt with a special oven cleaner. • Clean all accessories after each use and let them dry. Use a soft cloth withwarm water and a cleaning agent. • If you have nonstick accessories, do not clean them using aggressive agents, sharp-edged objects or a dishwasher. It can cause damage to the nonstick coating. 10.2 Stainless steel or aluminium appliancesClean the oven door with a damp cloth or sponge only. Dry it with a soft cloth. Do not use steel wool, acids or abrasive materials as they can damage the oven surface. Clean the oven control panel with the same precautions.10.3 Cleaning the cavity embossment The cleaning procedure removes limestone residue from the cavity embossment after cooking with steam.We recommend to do the cleaning procedure at least every 5 - 10 True Fan Cooking PLUS cycles. 1. Put 250 ml of white vinegar into the cavity embossment at the bottom of the oven. Use maximum 6% vinegar without herbs. 2. Let the vinegar dissolve the residual limestone at the ambient temperature for 30 minutes. 3. Clean the cavity with warm water and a soft cloth. 10.4 Removing the shelf supports To clean the oven, remove the shelf supports. 1. Pull the front of the shelf support away from the side wall. 2.Pull the rear end of the shelf support away from the side wall and remove it. Install the shelf supports in the opposite sequence. 10.5 PyrolysisCAUTION! Do not start the Pyrolysis if the Plus Steam button is pressed in.CAUTION! Remove all accessories and removable shelf supports.Do not start the Pyrolysis if you did not fully close the oven door. In some models, the display shows "C3" when this error occurs.WARNING! The appliance becomes very hot. There is a risk of burns.CAUTION! If there are other appliances installed in the same cabinet, do not use them when the Pyrolysis function operates. It can cause damage to the appliance. 1. Remove the worst dirt manually. 2. Clean the inner side of the door with hot water, so that the residues do not burn from the hot air. 3. Set the Pyrolysis function. Refer to "Oven functions". 4. When flashes, press or to set the necessary procedure: OptionDescriptionP1If the oven is not very dirty. Time of the procedure: 1 h.P2If you cannot easily remove the dirt. Time of the proce- dure: 1 h 30 min. Press or turn the knob for the temperature to start the procedure. You can use the End function to delay the start of the cleaning procedure. During the Pyrolysis the oven lamp is off. 5. When the oven is at its set temperature, the door locks. The display shows the symbol and the bars of the heat indicator until the door unlocks. To stop Pyrolysis before it is completed, turn the knob for the oven functions to the off position. 6. When Pyrolysis is completed, the display shows the time of day. The oven door stays locked. 7. When the appliance is cool again, an acoustic signal sounds and the door unlocks. www.aeg.com26 1 2
10.6 Cleaning reminder To remind you that the Pyrolysis is necessary, PYR flashes in the display for 10 seconds after each activation and deactivation of the appliance.The cleaning reminder goes out: • after the end of the Pyrolysis function. • if you press and at the same time while PYR flashes in the display. 10.7 Cleaning the oven door The oven door has four glass panels. You can remove the oven door and the internal glass panels to clean them. The oven door can close if you try to remove the glass panels before you remove the oven door.CAUTION! Do not use the appliance without the glass panels. 1. Fully open the door and identify the hinge to the right side of the door. 2. Push the tightening component until it pulls back. 3. Hold the pushed component with one hand. Use a screwdriver with the other hand to lift and turn the right side hinge lever. 4. Identify the hinge to the left side of the door. 5. Lift and turn the lever on the left hinge. 6. Close the oven door halfway to the first opening position. Then pull forward and remove the door from its seat. ENGLISH27
7.Put the door on a soft cloth on a stable surface. 8. Release the locking system to remove the glass panels. 9. Turn the two fasteners by 90° and remove them from their seats. 10. First lift carefully and then remove the glass panels one by one. Start from the top panel. 11. Clean the glass panels with water and soap. Dry the glass panels carefully. When the cleaning is completed, install the glass panels and the oven door. Do the above steps in the opposite sequence. Make sure that you put the glass panels (A, B and C) back in the correct sequence. The middle panel (B) has a decorative frame. The screen-printing zone must face the inner side of the door. Make sure that after the installation the surface of the glass panel frame (B) on the screen-printing zones is not rough when you touch it. Make sure that you install the middle panel of glass in the seats correctly. www.aeg.com28 90° 12 A B C
10.8 Replacing the lamp Put a cloth on the bottom of the interior of the appliance. It prevents damage to the lamp glass cover and the cavity. WARNING! Danger of electrocution! Disconnect the fuse before you replace the lamp. The lamp and the lamp glass cover can be hot.CAUTION! Always hold the halogen lamp with a cloth to prevent grease residue from burning on the lamp. 1. Deactivate the appliance. 2. Remove the fuses from the fuse box or deactivate the circuit breaker. The back lamp 1. Turn the lamp glass cover counterclockwise to remove it. 2. Clean the glass cover. 3. Replace the lamp with a suitable 300 °C heat-resistant lamp. 4. Install the glass cover. 11. TROUBLESHOOTINGWARNING!
