    Washing cycle complete/Removing the washing
    At the end of the programme PLEASE TAKE OUT THE CLOTHES appears 
    in the display. As soon as the 
    § symbol appears, the door can be 
    opened.
    1.Open the door using the handle.
    2.Remove the washing.
    3.Switch off the appliance.
    If Rinse Hold has been selected:
     1.Press the START key.
     The display automatically 
    changes to the first pro-
    gramme page. Depending 
    upon the programme that 
    has been running either SPIN 
    or SHORT SPIN is highlight-
    ed.
    If spinning or draining is required:
     Use the control knob to 
    highlight either
    –SPIN or
    –DRAIN.
    2.Reduce the spin speed, if 
    necessary.
    3.Press the START key.
    The washing is spun or the water is drained.
    3If OVERDOSING is shown in the display at the end of a wash cycle, too 
    much detergent was used in the completed wash programme. Please 
    take note of the dosage instructions provided by the detergent manu-
    facturer and the amount of washing loaded the next time you wash.

    Setting extra options
    Independent of any programme you can set different basic settings. 
    These basic settings will permanently remain active until they are dese-
    lected again.
    MEMORY
    Saving a programme setting
    First set a programme (e.g. LINEN/EASY-CARES, 40 °C, 1200 rpm, 
    with the SENSITIVE option), then save it.
     1.Use the control knob to 
    highlight LINEN/EASY-C. 
    2.Set the temperature and the 
    spin speed.
    3.Press the OPTIONS key.  MEMORY
    1, 2, 3, 4Frequently used programme settings can be stored. 
    The stored programme setting can then be selected 
    like a normal programme. There are a total of four 
    memory positions available.
    RINSE + Additional rinse cycle, only effective with the pro-
    grammes COTTONS, LINEN/EASY-CARES, ENERGY 
    SAVING, DELICATES, 40°-60° MIX, EASY IRON and 
    FASHION.
    GENTLE SPIN The washing does not cling to the side of the drum as 
    much and can be taken out more easily. Only effective 
    with the programmes COTTONS, LINEN/EASY-CARES, 
    ENERGY SAVING, 40°-60° MIX, STARCH and SPIN.
    LANGUAGE To set the language in which the indicators are to ap-
    pear in the display.
    TIMER To set the current time.
    VOLUME You will hear an acoustic signal when you press the 
    keys. The volume of this signal can be regulated and/
    or the signal can be deselected. The volume of the 
    signal for error messages cannot be altered.

     4.Highlight the SENSITIVE op-
    tion.
    5.Press the SELECT key.
    The   symbol will appear in 
    the display.
    6.Press the EXTRAS key.
     MEMORY is highlighted:

    If MEMORY 1 is highlighted:
    8.Press the SAVE key. 
    The programme setting is 
    stored as M1: LINEN/EASY-C.
    9.Then press the BACK key
    3 times.
    Clearing a stored programme setting
    1.Press the OPTIONS key.
    2.Press the EXTRAS key.
     MEMORY is highlighted:
    3.Press the SELECT key.
     4.Use the control knob to 
    highlight MEMORY 1.
    5.Press the CLEAR key.
    The stored programme set-
    ting has now been cleared.
    6.Then press the BACK key 
    3times.

    e.g. RINSE +. 
    4.Press the SELECT key.
    The   symbol appears in the 
    display.
    5.Press the BACK key twice.
    LANGUAGE
    1.Press the OPTIONS key.
    2.Press the EXTRAS key.
    3.Use the control knob to highlight LANGUAGE.
    4.Press the SELECT key.
     
    5.Use the control knob to 
    highlight the desired lan-
    guage, e.g. ENGLISH. 
    6.Use the SELECT key to store 
    the selected language.
    7.Press the BACK key 3 times.
    TIMER
    1.Press the OPTIONS key.

    3.Use the control knob to highlight TIMER.
    4.Press the SELECT key.
     5.Use the control knob to set 
    the desired time.

    1.Press the OPTIONS key.

    5.Use the control knob to 
    highlight OFF, NORMAL or 
    LOUD.
    6.Press the SELECT key.
    7.Press the BACK key 3 times.
    Programme protection
    In order to protect the selected settings of a programme that is running 
    from unintentional alterations, the buttons can be locked.
    Setting programme protection:
    1.Start the programme.
     2.Press second and fourth but-
    ton at the same time for 
    about 3 seconds. In the dis-
    play the symbol  appears. 
    The buttons are locked.
    Removing programme protection:
    Press second and fourth button again for about 3 seconds. 
    The buttons are unlocked. The symbol
     disappears.
    3The buttons also remain locked after the appliance has been switched 
    off. Before the next wash, remove programme protection again, so that 
    a new programme can be set. 
    If the appliance is unintentionally switched off while a programme is 
    running, programme protection must first be removed. Then set and 
    start the programme again.

    Child safety device
    If the child safety device has been activated, the door can no longer be 
    shut.
    Activating the child safety device:
    Use a coin to turn the knob (on the 
    inside of the door) in a clockwise di-
    rection as far as it will go.
    1Warning! The knob must not be de-
    pressed after being set, otherwise 
    the child safety device is not acti-
    vated. The knob must stand out as 
    shown in the illustration. 
    Deactivating the child safety device: 
    Turn the knob in an anti-clockwise direction as far as it will go.
    Cleaning and maintenance
    Important! Do not use furniture care products or aggressive cleaners to 
    clean the appliance. 
    Wipe control panel and body with a damp cloth.
    Cleaning procedure
    If you plan to wash mainly at low temperature, you should run a hot 
    programme from time to time. This will reduce any deposits and clean 
    the appliance from the inside.

    Detergent dispenser drawer
    The detergent dispenser drawer should be cleaned regularly.
    1.Remove the detergent dispenser drawer by pulling it firmly.
    2.Remove the conditioner insert from 
    the middle compartment. 
    3.Clean all parts with water.
    4.Put the conditioner insert in as far as 
    it will go, so that it is firmly in place.
    5.Clean all parts of the washing ma-
    chine, especially the nozzles in the 
    top of the washing-in chamber, with 
    a brush.
    6.Insert the detergent dispenser draw-
    er in the guide rails and push it in.
    Washing drum
    Rust deposits in the drum may occur due to rusting foreign bodies in 
    the washing or tap water containing iron.
    Important! Do not clean the drum with acidic descaling agents, scour-
    ing agents containing chlorine or iron or steel wool.
    1.Remove any rust deposits on the drum with a cleaning agent for stain-
    less steel.
    2.Run a washing cycle without any washing to clean off any cleaning 
    agent residues. Programme: COTTONS 95°, with the TIME SAVING/VERY 
    QUICK option, add about 1/4 of a measuring cup of washing powder.
    Door and rubber collar
    Regularly check whether deposits or foreign bodies are present in the 
    folds of the rubber collar or on the inside of the glass door. 
    Clean the glass in the door and the rubber collar regularly.

    What to do if...
    Remedying small malfunctions yourself
    If one of the following fault messages is shown in the display during 
    operation:
    –ATTENTION (E41) / PLEASE CLOSE THE DOOR
    –ATTENTION ERROR CODE (E11) / PLEASE OPEN THE TAP
    –ATTENTION ERROR CODE (E21) / PLEASE CHECK THE WATER DRAIN-
    AGE
    please refer to the following table. 
    After you have rectified the error, press the START key. 
    If ATTENTION / PLEASE CALL YOUR LOCAL SERVICE FORCE together with 
    an error code (e.g. E..) appears in the display: Switch the appliance off 
    and then on again. Re-set the programme. Press the START key.
    If the error code is displayed again, please contact the Service Force 
    and inform them of the error code and the PNC no. (see rating plate).

    Washing machine does

    Mains plug not plugged in or 
    fuse not working.Connect the plug to a mains 
    socket.
    Check the fuse.
    The door is not closed prop-

    The drain pump runs 
    constantly, even when 
    the machine is 
    switched off.
    ATTENTION (EF3) /

    The Aqua Control anti-flood 
    system has been activated.Close the water tap, remove 
    the mains plug from the 
    socket and inform your local 
    Service Force Centre.
    The washing machine 
    vibrates when operat-
    ing or is not stable.
    The transit packaging has not 
    been removed.Removing the transit pack-
    aging.
    The screw feet not correctly 
    adjusted.Adjust the feet as described 
    in the installation and con-
    nection instructions.
    Washing has not been 
    spun.Only a few large items of 
    washing in the drum.Always load the drum as full 
    as possible. Mix large and 
    small items.
    Water is leaking out 
    from under the 
    washing machine.
    The screw connection on the 
    inlet hose is leaking.Screw the inlet hose in 
    firmly.
    The drainage hose is leaking.Replace drain hose.
    The drain pump cover is not 
    closed properly.Close the cover properly.
    Washing was caught in the 
    door.Load washing carefully for 
    the next wash.
    Emergency drain hose is 
    leaking.Close off emergency drain 
    hose properly.
    Softener was not 
    washed in.  compart-
    ment for conditioners 
    is filled with water.The conditioner insert is not 
    correctly set into the addi-
    tive compartment or is 
    blocked.Clean the detergent dispens-
    er drawer, insert the condi-
    tioner insert firmly.
    Washing is heavily 
    creased.There may have been too 
    much washing in the ma-
    chine.
    Observe maximum loads.
    The door cannot be 
    opened when the ap-
    pliance is switched on. 
    The   symbol appears 
    in the display.
    The door is locked for safety 
    reasons.Wait until the  symbol ap-
    pears.

    For safety reasons, the door

    The programme will continue 
    when the power cut is over.
    To remove washing: 
    If water can be seen in the 
    appliance, before opening 
    the door, first perform an 
    emergency drain.
    The background illumi-
    nation of the display 
    has gone out even 
    though the appliance is 
    switched on.
    The washing machine is in  
    stand-by mode.Press any key.
    Water is not entering 
    the appliance. ATTEN-
    TION ERROR CODE 
    (E11) / PLEASE OPEN 
    THE WATER TAP ap-
    pears in the display.Tap turned off.Turn on the tap.
    The filter in the threaded in-
    let hose fitting is blocked.Turn off the tap. Unscrew the 
    hose, take out the filter and 
    clean it.
    Water tap is furred with lime 
    scale or is faulty.Check the tap and have it re-
    paired, if necessary.
    The washing has not 
    been spun thoroughly 
    and water remains visi-
    ble in the drum.
    ATTENTION ERROR 
    CODE (E21) /  PLEASE 
    CHECK THE WATER 
    DRAINAGE appears in 
    the display.Drain hose is kinked.Remove kink.
    Maximum pumping height of 
    1 m exceeded.Please contact your Local 
    Service Force.
    The drain pump is blocked.
    Clean the drain pump. Re-
    move foreign bodies from 
    the pump housing.
    For sink spigot connections: 
    The sink spigot is blocked.Clean the sink spigot.
