23 For music lovers, musicians and fi\frst and foremost for sound en\fineers and producers, \food speakers should \be like \food friends. At \best they are sincere and would not hide anythin\f from you. In recordin\f or mixin\f sess\fions it is vital to hear the sli\fhtest shade within the sound in order to \be a\ble to make adjustments. Only with that you will \be a\ble to record that perfect take or create the perfect mix. We at ADAM Audio are commited to loudspeakers that are capa\ble of reproducin\f record- in\fs clearly and precisely. Since the company‘s foundin\f year in 1999 we have produced a num\ber of monitors that have \been hi\fhly praised worldwide \by well-known producers and recordin\f en\fineers. Awards and excellent ma\fazine reviews underscore the innova- tive sound characteristics of our monitors. The element main\fly responsi\ble for the natural sound of ADAM loudspeakers is our proprietary X-ART tweeter. Handmade in Berl\fin, Ger - many, it performs with a nearly flat frequency response reachin\f up to 50 kHz. The new F series, consis\ftin\f of the two active nearfield monitors F5 and F7 and a \fdedi- cated su\bwoofer, the Su\bF, is desi\fned in the continuin\f tradition of the le\fendary ADAM professional monitors. The aim is to focus on the essence of a mon\fitor, i.e. precise and natural sound reproduction at a new, lower price point. With the new F series you are a\ble to have the same \freat tools the world‘s \best produc- ers and masterin\f experts rely on for their daily studio work. The extraordinary clarity of the X-ART tweeter paired with the powerful \bass reproduction of the woofer make these speakers very attractive for a num\ber of appl\fications. Be it an\f expressive monitor in your home recordin\f studio or on your desktop, the new F series is an i\fdeal entry to the world of Pro Audio. 45 ADAM‘s F-Series offers all the features you want to see in a professional studio monitor. A \broad frequency ran\fe (52Hz - 50kHz for the F5 and 44Hz - 50\fkHz for the F7) plus comprehensive control. Both models are equipped with a Room Equalizer for hi\fh (> 5kHz) and\f low (< 300 Hz) frequencies and an overall volume control on the rear panel. A hi\fh pa\fss filter (to \be used in conjun\fction with a su\bwoofer) and XLR/TRS/RCA inputs complete the professional functions \fof the F5 and F7. Both monitors are driven \by two A/B class amplifiers with 50W RMS / 70W Mus\fic for the F5 and 100W RMS / 140W Music for the F7. This helps \both monitors to provide a vi\brant, deep \bass and \fa maximum SPL of 106dB (F5) and 109dB (F7) per pair\f. The reproduction of dynamic\fally challen\fin\f tracks should not \be a pro\blem with these powerhouses. 67 For most modern/ur\ban musical \fenres a hefty portion of \bass is quite typical. In order to \be a\ble to work accurately, an extension of the lower frequencies is required from time to time as the mixin\f of a son\f‘\fs low end can \be critic\fal. The Su\bF has \bee\fn desi\fned to \be the perfect match for the F5 and F7 nearfie\fld monitors. This su\bwoofer is capa\ble of ex\ftendin\f the frequency ran\fe down to 30Hz. The ro\bust 8“ woofer with a 1.5“ voice coil is driven \by a 110W (RMS) / 150W (Music) PWM am\fplifier. These components com\bine hi\fh\f efficiency with low heat \feneration and are very capa\ble of handlin\f\f maximum sound pressure levels over lon\fer time periods. Several controls on the rear panel of the su\bwoofer allow adjustments to your needs. Besides\f the volume control (∞ to +6dB) and a phase\f reverse switch you have the option to adjust the crossover frequency. 89 HigH-TecH borrowed froM our rAnge of ProfeSSionAl STudio Mon- iT orS In the course of the desi\fn process of the F series we have put special focus on the X-ART tweeter. Hand- made in our Berlin\f factory, these tweeters play a crucial role for what we call the “ADAM Sound”, which had \been descri\bed sinc\fe our early years as clear and ric\fh in detail in countless r\feviews. The X-ART technol- o\fy \breaks new \fround when it comes \fto transducin\f electrica\fl audio si\fnals int\fo actual sound. The\f X-ART tweeter mem\brane consists of a pleated diaphra\fm in which the folds compress and expand acc\fordin\f to the audio si\fnal app\flied to them. The result is that air is drawn in and squeezed out, like the \bellows of an accordion. Due to the pleated diaphra\fm, the X-ART concept improves air loadin\f \by a factor of 4 over conventional transducers. Similar to human \breathin\f, where the thorax is movin\f slowly \but the air is movin\f compara- \bly fast, the X-ART diaphra\fm presses the air faster in or out of its\f folds than they themselves are movin\f. That’s the secret that makes the clarity and accu\frate transient reproduction possi\ble i\fn our X-ART drivers. bold And criSP : THe low/MidrAnge woofer The F series woofers are extremely li\fht \but at the same time phenom\fenally stiff and ri\fid which helps to eliminate elon\fation and other kinds of distortion. This desi\fn he\flps the Low/Midran\fe woofers deliver crucial mid-frequencies distinctly and a ti\fht punchy \bass in the deep re\fisters as well. The F5 is driv\fen \by a 5” woofer with a 1” voice coil and the F7 model has a 7\f” woofer with a 1.5” voice coil for an impressive sound experience. PerfecT cAbineT AcouSTicS All models of the F series are \built with specially desi\fned MDF-ca\binets that feature tapered corners to help eliminatin\f \fdiffraction. The low-vi\bration enclosure itself is extremely sturdy and prevents self- resonances from the monitor. This helps the sound spread into your room evenly. We also put an extr\fa-wide \bass port in the front of the monitor in order to remove any annoyin\f port noise. This way the monitors can \be placed near walls without sacrificin\f sou\fnd.
