English 32 Audio effects Your Acer LCD TV is equipped with high-quality sound specifications to e\ nsure that you enjoy the best audio experience possible. TELTEXTHOLDSIZESUBTITLE MPX SRS WOW SRS WOW is a special combination of SRS audio technologies that creates \ a thrilling experience with deep, rich bass from any stereo sound source. Your audio sounds fuller, richer\ and wider. Based on the elements of SRS 3D technology, WOW restores the spatial cues and ambient information that are lost during standard stereo playback. To enable SRS WOW: Press the SRS/BBE key on the remote control. BBE Digital All sound that is amplified through a loudspeaker suffers some loss of f\ idelity, or subtle distortions, caused by the inherent characteristics of the loudspeaker. BBE Digital addresse\ s these problems by compensating for phase and amplitude distortions and, in effect, delivers the signal \ to the speaker in a form that allows it to reproduce the original performance more fully and more faithfully. To enable BBE Digital, press the SRS/BBE key on the remote control. Dolby Digital (Digital TV only) Dolby Digital surround sound is a technology that delivers high-quality \ digital audio for up to 5.1 discrete channels (Left/Center/Right/Left Surround/Right Surround/Low-Frequency \ Effects). The five speaker channels produce a directional and more realistic effect and the Low-Frequency Ef\ fects (LFE) channel (usually reproduced through a subwoofer) can often be felt as well as heard. Dolby Digital technology is found in: broadcast programming in HDTV, dig\ ital cable, and (DBS, DTH) direct broadcast satellite (DirecTV/Dish/Sky TV); digital TVs; networking and\ home audio/video receivers. The Acer LCD TV is Dolby Digital ready. It is enabled whenever your TV s\ ignal is broadcast in the Dolby Digital format. 4.in.1.05.series.0303.indb 323/8/2006 2:03:52 PM
