11 INST ALLATION POWERING ON THE PROJECTOR 1Remove the lens cap. 2Ensure that the power cord and signal cable are securely connected. The Power LED will flash green. 3Turn on the lamp by pressing “Power/Standby” button on the control panel. And the Power LED will turn green. The first time you use the projector, you can select your preferred language from the quick menu after the star tup screen display. 4Turn on your source (computer, notebook, video player, etc.). The projector will detect your source automatically. 1 Turn on the projector first and then the signal sources. If you connect multiple sources at the same time, use the “Source” button on the remote control or control panel to switch between them. If the screen displays “No Signal”, please make sure the signal cables are securely connected. 1
12 INSTALLATION POWERING OFF THE PROJECTOR 1Press the “Power/Standby” button to turn off the projector lamp, you will see a message “Power off the lamp? Picture Mute” displayed on the projector’s screen. Press the “Power/Standby” button again to confirm, otherwise the mes\ sage will disappear after 5 seconds. Please note that if the key is pressed instead, the projector will enter the “Picture Mute” mode and no image will be displayed. To exit the “Picture Mute” mode, press the “Power/Standby” button again. 2The cooling fans continue to operate for about 60 seconds for cooling cy\ cle and the “Power/Standby” button will turn orange. When the light begins\ flashing, the pr ojector has entered standby mode. If you wish to turn the projector back on, you must wait until the proje\ ctor has completed the cooling cycle and has entered standby mode. Once in standb\ y mode, simply press “Power/ Standby” button to restart the projector. 3Disconnect the power cord from the electrical outlet and the projector. 4Do not turn on the projector immediately following a power off procedure. Warning Indicator When the “LAMP” indicator lights solid r ed, the projector will automatically shut itself down. Please contact your local reseller or service center. When the “TEMP” indicator lights solid red for about 20 seconds, it indicates the pr ojector has been overheated. You will see a message “Projector Overheated. Lamp will automatically turn off soon.” on the onscreen display. The projector will automatically shut itself down. Under normal conditions, the pr ojector can be switched on again after it has cooled down. If the problem persists, you should contact your local dealer or our service centre. When the “TEMP” indicator flashs red for about 10 seconds, you will see a message “Fan fail. Lamp will automatically turn off soon” on the onscreen display. Please contact your local dealer or our service centre.
The projector is equipped with an elevator foot for adjusting the image height. To raise the projector 1 Press the elevator button . 2Raise the image to the desired height angle ,then release the button to lock the elevator foot into position. 3Use to finetune the display angle. 14 INSTALLATION Y ou may turn the zoom ring to zoom in or out. To focus the image, rotate the focus ring until the image is clear. The projector will focus at distances from 1.2 to 10.0 meters. 15 USER CONTROLS Ther e are two ways for you to control the functions: Remote Control and Control Panel. CONTROL PANEL & REMOTE CONTROL USING THECONTROLPANEL Power / Standby Refer to the “Power On/Off the Projector” section on pages 1112. Source Press “Source” to choose RGB, Componentp, Componenti, SV ideo, Composite V ideo and HDTV sour ces. Menu Press “Menu” to launch the on screen display (OSD) menu. To exit OSD, press “Menu” again. Keystone Adjusts image distortion caused by tilting the projector (±16 degree\ s). Four Dir ectional Select Keys Use to select items or make adjustments to your selection. Enter Confirm your selection of items. ReSync Automatically synchronises the projector to the input source. Volume + / Increases/decreases speaker volume. Reset Changes the adjustments and settings to the factory default value. Hide Press “Hide” to hide image, press again to restore display of the image. This function is only available when the projector is connected to a computer via an USB cable. Page Down (Computer mode only) Use this button to page down. This function is only available when the p\ r ojector is connected to a computer via an USB cable. Freeze Press “Freeze” to pause the screen image. 17 USER CONTROLS ON SCREEN DISPLAY MENUS HOW TO OPERATE The Projector has multilingual On Screen Display (OSD) menus that allow you to make image adjustments and change a variety of settings. The projector will automatically detect the source. How to Operate 1 To open the OSD menu, press “Menu” on the Remote Control or Control\ Panel. 2When OSD is displayed, use keys to select any item in the main menu. While making a selection on a particular page, press “Enter ” key to ent\ er sub menu. 3Use keys to select the desired item and adjust the settings by key. 4Select the next item to be adjusted in the sub menu and adjust as descri\ bed above. 5Pr ess “Menu” to confir m, and the screen will return to the main menu. 6To exit, press “Menu” again. The OSD menu will close and the pr ojector will automatically save the new settings. 19 USER CONTROLS Computer / Video Mode IMAGEI Display Mode There are many factory presets optimized for various types of images. PC : For computer or notebook. Movie : For home theatre. Game : For game. sRGB : For PC standar d color. User : Memorise user ’s settings. Brightness Adjusting the brightness of the image. Press the to darken image. Press the to lighten the image. Contrast The contrast controls the degree of difference between the lightest and darkest par ts of the pictur e. Adjusting the contrast changes the amount of black and white in the image. Press the to decrease the contrast. Pr ess the to increase the contrast. Keystone (Keystone Cor rection) Adjust image distortion caused by tilting projection. (±16 degrees)\ Colour Press “Enter” to adjust the r ed, green and blue colors. White Peaking Use the white peaking contr ol to set the white peaking level of DMD chip. 0 stands for minimal peaking, and 10 stands for maximum peaking. If you prefer a stronger image, adjust towards the maximum setting. For a smoot\ h and more natural image, adjust towards the minimum setting. Colour Temp. Adjust the colour temperatur e. At higher temperature, the screen looks colder; at lower temperature, the screen looks warmer. 20 USER CONTROLS Computer Mode IMAGEII (COMPUTER MODE) Frequency “Frequency”changes the display data frequency to match the frequency of your computer’s graphic card. If you experience a vertical flickering bar, use this function to make an adjustment. Tracking “Tracking” synchr onizes the signal timing of the display with the graphic car d. If you experience an unstable or flickering image, use this function to correct it. Horizontal Position Press the to move the image left. Press the to move the image right. Vertical Position Press the to move the image down. Pr ess the to move the image up. Degamma This allows you to choose a degamma table that has been finetuned to bring out the best image quality for the input. Aspect Ratio Use this function to choose your desired aspect ratio. 4:3 : The input source will be scaled to fit the projection screen. 16:9 : The input sour ce will be scaled to fit the width of the scr een. Window: When a 4:3 image is bigger than a 16:9 screen, select the “Wi\ ndow” mode to fit the image onto the screen without changing the projection di\ stance. 16:9 Image Position Adjust the image position to up or down, when you select the aspect ratio to 16:9.
