VORSICHT
Schalten Sie vor der Anschlussherstellung
alle Geräte aus. Lesen Sie jeweils
sorgfältig die Bedienungsanleitung der
Geräte, die zusammen mit diesem
verwendet werden sollen.
Achten Sie auf eine einwandfreie
Anschlussherstellung. Um Brummstörungen
zu vermeiden sollten die Anschlusskabel
nicht zusammen mit dem Netzkabel oder den
Lautsprecherkabeln gebündelt werden.
Anschlussherstellung :
Drücken Sie den Riegel,
schieben Sie das
abisolierte und verdrillte
Kabelende ein und
lassen Sie den Riegel dann los. Ziehen Sie
leicht am Kabel, um zu überprüfen, dass das
Kabel einwandfrei festgeklemmt ist.

Connection (TV)Raccordement (TV)
Connect one of the following jacks to your TV or monitor.
Select the proper video output mode in accordance with your
connection. (see page46)

COMPONENT VIDEO connection or S-VIDEO connection is
recommended for a clearer picture.
<
Connect this unit to a TV directly. If you connect the TV through a
video cassette recorder and play a copy protected DVD disc, the
playback picture might be distorted.
dVIDEO or S-VIDEO jacks
Connect the component with an RCA cable.
VIDEO OUT (PL-D2000) wVIDEO IN (TV)
By connecting S-VIDEO jacks, you can enjoy a clearer picture. If
the component has a S-VIDEO jack, connect them with a S-VIDEO
cord. 
S-VIDEO OUT (PL-D2000) wS-VIDEO IN (TV)
When S-VIDEO jacks are connected, you dont have to connect
VIDEO jacks.
eCOMPONENT VIDEO OUT jack
(General Export Model only)
By connecting COMPONENT VIDEO jacks, you can enjoy a
clearer picture. If your TV or monitor has COMPONENT VIDEO IN
jack, connect them with a component video cable.
fAV CONNECTOR jack (European Model only)
Use a 21-pin SCART cable to connect to a TV or monitor
compatible with this type of connection.

Both audio and video signals are output from this jack. When AV
CONNECTOR jacks are connected, do not connect other video
and audio jacks.

Le branchement COMPONENT VIDEO ou S-VIDEO est préférable
en termes de qualité d’image.

Brancher cet appareil directement sur le téléviseur. S’il y a un
enregistreur cassette vidéo branché entre cet appareil et le
téléviseur, l’image sera déformée à la lecture des disques DVD
protégés contre doublage.
dPrises VIDEO ou S-VIDEO
On y branche un téléviseur au moyen d’un câble muni d’une prise
RCA. 
VIDEO OUT (PL-D2000) wVIDEO IN (TV)
Le raccordement entre deux prises S-VIDEO assure une meilleure
qualité d’image. Si votre téléviseur est muni d’une prise S-VIDEO,
en profiter au moyen d’un câble fabriqué pour cet effet. 
S-VIDEO OUT (PL-D2000) wS-VIDEO IN (TV)
Quand le raccordement entre deux prises S-VIDEO est achevé, il
est inutile de brancher la sortie VEDIO (sans S) en entrée VIDEO. 
ePrise COMPONENT VIDEO OUT (sur le modèle
d’exportation générale uniquement)
Le raccordement entre deux prises COMPONENT VIDEO assure
une meilleure qualité d’image. Si votre téléviseur ou moniteur est
muni d’une prise COMPONENT VIDEO IN, brancher cet appareil
sur elle au moyen d’un câble fabriqué pour cet effet. 
fPrise AV CONNECTOR(Sur le modèle européen
uniquement)
Utiliser un câble SCART à 21 broches si votre téléviseur ou
moniteur est muni d’une prise de ce type.

Le signal vidéo et celui audio tous deux se véhiculent par cette
prise AC CONNECTOR. Tout raccordement entre d’autres prises
est inutile.

Komponente über einen  S-VIDEO-
Anschluss verfügt, den Anschluss mittels
eines S-VIDEO-Kabels herstellen.

Wenn der S-VIDEO-Anschluss verwendet
wird, brauchen die VIDEO-Buchsen nicht
angeschlossen zu werden.

Bei Anschlussherstellung per
COMPONENT VIDEO-Buchse kann eine
verbesserte Bildqualität erzielt werden.
Falls das anzuschließende Fernsehgerät
über einen COMPONENT VIDEO-
Anschluss verfügt, den Anschluss mittels
eines geeigneten Kabels herstellen.
fAV CONNECTOR-Buchse 
(nur europäisches Modell)
Verwenden Sie zum Anschluss an ein
Fernsehgerät mit Eurobuchse ein SCART-
Kabel (21-pol. Eurostecker).

Sowohl das Audio- als auch das
Videosignal werden an dieser Buchse
abgegeben. Sollen die AV CONNECTOR-
Buchsen verwendet werden, keine
weiteren Audio- oder Videobuchsen
belegen.
Collegare al televisore o monitor una delle

In caso di collegamento dei terminali S-

Facendo uso dei terminali COMPONENT
VIDEO si ottiene una immagine ancora più
chiara e nitida. Se il televisore o monitor in
uso dispone di terminali di ingresso
COMPONENT VIDEO IN, collegarli per
mezzo di un apposito cavo per segnali a
video componente.

modello per l’Europa)
Per il collegamento ad un televisore o
monitor compatibile con questo tipo di
collegamento usare una presa del tipo
SCART a 21 poli.

Entrambi i segnali video e audio vengono
emessi da questo terminale. Se si fa uso
dei collegamenti ai terminali AV
CONNECTOR non effettuare alcun altro
collegamento video o audio.
Conecte una de las siguientes tomas en su

Al conectar las tomas COMPONENT
VIDEO, podrá desfrutar de una imagen
más nítida. Si su TV o monitor posee una
toma COMPONENT VIDEO IN, conéctelas
con un cable de video componente.

Utilice un cable SCART de 21 pins para
conectar un TV o monitor compatible con
este tipo de conexión.

Tanto las señales de audio como las de
vídeo son exteriorizadas desde esta toma.
Cuando estén conectadas las tomas AV

When using DIGITAL OUT OPTICAL terminals, remove the caps
from the terminals. When you do not use them, leave the caps in
place.

If the ANALOG is selected in AUDIO OUTPUT mode, or the
headphones are pluged, the COAXIAL and OPTICAL will not have
audio outputs. 
<
The 5.1CH SPEAKER and 2CH MIX outputs are not available at the
same time. When the 5.1CH SPEAKER output is activated, no
audio is available at AUDIO OUT. To let the 5.1-channel audio
have access to AUDIO OUT, select MIX DOWN from the SETUP
menu. (When you plug in a set of headphones, AUDIO OUT
automatically switches into the 2-channel mix down mode.)

Deux possibilités de raccordement (optique ou coaxial) vous sont
offertes.

Choisir la sortie OPTICAL ou celle COAXIAL.

Si vous optez pour la sortie OPTICAL, enlever le capuchon de la
prise. S’assurer qu’il est en place quand la sortie optique n’est
pas utilisée.
<
Si le réglage AIDIO OUT est en ANALOG, ou si le casque d’écoute
est branché, ni la sortie optique ni la sortie coaxiale ne véhiculent
de signal audio. 
<
La sortie 5.1CH SPEAKER et celle 2CH MIX ne sont pas
disponibles en même temps. Et puis, quand la sortie 5.1CH
SPEAKER est en usage, aucun son audio n’alimente la sortie
AUDIO OUT. Pour que le son 5.1 canaux donne accès à la sortie
AUDIO OUT, choisir MIX DOWN sur le menu SETUP. (Au
branchement d’un casque d’écoute, la sortie AUDIO OUT se
commute automatiquement en mixage en 2 canaux.

können nicht gleichzeitig eingesetzt
werden. Wenn der 5.1CH SPEAKER-
Ausgang aktiviert ist, wird kein
Audiosignal an AUDIO OUT abgegeben.
Um das Signal im 5.1-Kanalmodus per
AUDIO OUT abzugeben, wählen Sie MIX
DOWN im SETUP-Menü. (Wenn ein
Kopfhörer angeschlossen wird, wechselt
AUDIO OUT automatisch auf den 2-
Kanbal-Abmischmodus.)

seleziona la posizione ANALOG, o se la
cuffia è collegata all’apparecchio, dalle
prese COAXIAL e OPTICAL non proviene
alcun segnale audio.

Le uscite 5.1CH SPEAKER e 2CH MIX non
possono essere usate
contemporaneamente. Se viene attivata
l’uscita 5.1CH SPEAKER, all’uscita AUDIO
OUT non viene inviato alcun segnale
sonoro. Per consentire all’audio del
canale 5.1 di accedere all’uscita AUDIO
OUT, selezionare la posizione MIX DOWN
nel menù SETUP. Ricordare che
collegando una cuffia all’apparecchio,
l’uscita AUDIO OUT passa
automaticamente alla modalità di
missaggio a 2 canali.

AM Indoor Loop Antenna
A high-performance AM loop antenna
provided with the receiver is sufficient for
good reception in most areas.
Connect the loop antennas wires to the AM
antenna terminals as shown.
Place the antenna on a shelf, for example, or
hang it on a window frame, etc., in the
direction which gives the best reception, as
far away as possible from the entire system,
speaker cords and the power cord, to
prevent unwanted noise.
How to connect 
Press the lever, insert the stripped and
twisted end (approx. 10 mm) of the cord,
then release the lever.
Make sure it is fastened securely by pulling
the cord lightly.
AM Outdoor Antenna
If the AM loop antenna provided does not
deliver sufficient reception (because you are
too far from the transmitter or in a concrete
building, etc.), it may be necessary to use an
outdoor AM antenna.
Use an insulated wire more than 15 ft (5 m)
long, strip one end, and connect this to the
terminal as shown.
The antenna wire should be strung outdoors
or indoors near a window.
For better reception, connect the GND
terminal to a reliable ground.

AM Rahmen-Antenne
Im Lieferumfang des Receivers befindet sich
eine Hochleistungs-Mittelwellen-
Innenantenne,die in fast allen
Empfangssituationen ausreichend sein
sollte.
Verbinden Sie die Anschlüsse der Antenne
mit den Klemmbuchsen am Gerät (siehe
Abbildung). Plazieren Sie die Antenne so, z.
B. auf einem Schrank oder hängen Sie sie in
ein Fensterkreuz, daß Sie den
bestmöglichen Empfang erzielen.  Beachten
Sie hierbei auch, daß Sie die Antenne
soweit wie möglich von Ihrer gesamten
Anlage, inklusive Lautsprecher- und
Netzleitungen, aufstellen, um etwaige
Störgeräusche zu vermeiden.
Anschlussherstellung
Drücken Sie den Riegel, schieben Sie das
abisolierte und verdrillte Kabelende ein und
lassen Sie den Riegel dann los. Ziehen Sie
leicht am Kabel, um zu überprüfen, dass das
Kabel einwandfrei festgeklemmt ist.
AM Außen-Antenne
Sollte die mitgelieferte Mittelwellenantenne
nicht die gewünschte Empfangsqualität
bieten, weil Sie zu weit entfernt vom Sender
oder in einem sehr dicht bebauten
Wohngebiet leben, verwenden Sie
zusätzlich eine AM Außenantenne.
Benutzen Sie hierzu ein isoliertes Kabel, das
länger als 5 m ist. Isolieren Sie das eine
Ende ab und verbinden Sie es, wie in der
Abbildung dargestellt. Das Antennenkabel
sollte außerhalb oder innerhalb der
Wohnung, in der Nähe eines Fensters,
gespannt werden.  Zur weiteren
Empfangsverbesserung verbinden Sie die
GND-Klemme mit einer guten Erdleitung
(Hausmasse).

FM Indoor Antenna
(General Export Model)
In an area with strong FM signals, the T-
type FM antenna provided is sufficient.
Extend this into a T shape and connect the
two wires at the base of the T to the
terminals. Extend the top of the T and fix
with thumb tacks, or the like, to a wall or
window frame for the best possible
reception.
FM Indoor Antenna 
(European Model)
If you live reasonably close to a transmitter
and want to use the provided lead-type FM
antenna, you will have to connect it direct to
the FM 75Ω socket. 
Fit the metal sleeve of the lead-type antenna
over the core (center) conductor of the FM
75Ω socket, extend the lead and fix it to a
window frame or wall with thumbtacks, or
the like, where reception is best.
FM Outdoor Antenna
(General Export Model)
In an area where FM signals are weak, it will
be necessary to use a 75-ohm unbalanced-
type outdoor FM antenna. Generally, a 3-
element antenna will be sufficient; if you live
in an area where the FM signals are
particularly weak, it may be necessary to
use one with 5 or more elements.
A 75-ohm antenna uses a coaxial cable and
should be connected as follows : first strip
the covering of the cable, then twist the wire
shielding so the inner core and shielding
can be connected as shown.
FM Outdoor Antenna 
(European Model)
In an area where FM signals are weak, it will
be necessary to use a 75-ohm unbalanced-
type outdoor FM antenna using the optional
matching transformer, as shown. Generally,
a 3-element antenna will be sufficient; if you
live in an area where the FM signals are
particularly weak, it may be necessary to
use one with 5 or more elements.
Antenne FM intérieure

forts, lantenne de type en T fournie est
suffisante. Étendez-la en forme de T et
connectez les deux fils de la base du T.
Etendre le haut du T et le fixer avec des

Antenne FM intérieure

Si vous habitez à proximité d’un émetteur et
souhaitez utiliser lantenne FM fournie,
branchez celle-ci directement sur la prise
FM 75Ω.  Placez le manchon métallique de
l’antenne sur le conducteur central (centre)
de la prise FM 75Ω, dépliez le fil et le fixer
sur un encadrement de fenêtre ou un mur à
l’aide de punaises, ou de tout autre système
de fixation équivalent, dès que vous aurez
trouvé la position vous permettant d’obtenir
la meilleure réception possible.
Antenne FM extérieure

En général, une antenne à 3 éléments sera

Les antennes 75 ohms utilisent un câble
coaxial et doivent être raccordées comme

In einer Empfangslage mit starker UKW-
Signalfeldstärke ist die mitgelieferte UKW-
Dipolantenne ausreichend. Die UKW-
Dipolantenne T-förmig spreizen und die
beiden vom unteren Ende der Dipolantenne
ausgehenden Anschlußkabel wie gezeigt an
den Antennenanschlüs-sen anbringen. 
Die Dipolarme spreizen und mit
Reißzwecken etc. an einer Wand, einem
Fensterrahmen (wo immer bestmöglicher
Empfang gegeben ist) befestigen.
UKW-Innenantenne
(Europäisches Modell)
Wenn Sie in der Nähe einer Sendeanlage
wohnen und die beigepackte Dipol-Antenne
verwenden wollen, schließen Sie diese
direkt an den FM 75 ΩAnschluß an.
Verbinden Sie die beiden Drähte am unteren
Ende des Dipols mit dem Koaxialstecker.
Danach befestigen Sie die oberen beiden
Enden mit Hilfe von Reißzwecken an einer
Wand oder mit Klebeband an einer
Fensterscheibe, wo immer Ihnen der
Empfang am besten erscheint.
UKW-Außenantenne
(allgemeines Exportmodell)
In einer Empfangslage mit schwachem
UKW-Signal muss eine UKW-Antenne
(unsymmetrisch, 75 Ω) verwendet werden.
Im allgemeinen genügt eine Antenne mit 3
Elementen . Bei besonders schwachem
UKW-Signal kann eine UKW-Anetenne mit 5
oder mehr Elementen erforderlich sein.
Eine 75-Ω-Antenne erfordert ein
Koaxialkabel, das wie folgt anzuschließen
ist: Zuerst die Ummantelung entfernen, dann
die Kabelabschrimung umstülpen, so daß
der innere Leiter und die Abschirmung wie
nachfolgend gezeigt angeschlossen werden
können.

(Europäisches Modell)
In einer Empfangslage mit schwacher UKW-
Signalfeldstärke ist der Anschluß an eine 75-
Ohm-UKW-Außenantenne unter
Verwendung des optionalen
Anpaßübertragers erforderlich. Im Normalfall
ist eine Antenne mit 3 Elementen
ausreichend. In einer Empfangslage mit
besonders schwachem Empfang kann eine
Antenne mit 5 oder mehr Elementen
erforderlich sein.
Antenna FM interna (Modello
generale per l’esportazione)
In unarea con segnali FM potenti, lantenna
FM a T fornita in dotazione è sufficiente.
Estendere tale antena in forna di T e
collegare i due fili alla base della T con i
terminali di antenna come indicato. Per
dettagli sul collegamento dei fili dellantenna
ai terminali, vedere lillustrazione.
Estendere la parte superiore della T e
fissarla con puntine o simili al muro o al
telaio di una finestra in modo da ottenere la
migliore ricezione possibile.

Chi abita abbastanza vicino ad un
trasmettitore e vuole utilizzare lantenna FM
a filo in dotazione, dovrà collegarla
direttamente alla presa FM 75 ohm.
Inserire la calza metallica dellantenna a filo
sopra ilconduttore centrale della presa FM
75 ohm, stendere il filo nella sua lunghezza
e fissarlo allintelaiatura di una finestra o
alla parete con puntine da disegno, o
qualcosa di simile, nel punto in cui la
ricezione risulta migliore.

In unarea con segnali FM deboli, sarà
necessario utilizzare unantenna FM esterna
non bilanciata da 75 ohm tramite un
trasformatore opzionale di adattamento
come indicato. Generalmente, unantenna a

in nellarea del caso sono particolrmente
deboli, potrebbe essere necessario utilizzare
unantenna con 5 o più elementi.
Lantenna FM da 75 ohm utilizza un cavo
coassiale ed è necessario essere collegata
come sigue: denudare il cavo, torcere le filla
di schermatura poi collegare il condutore
centrale e le fila di schermmo come
indicato.

Ciña la cubierta metálica de la antena tipo
guía al pin central del conector FM 75
OHMS, extienda la guía y fijela en donde se
obtenga una mejor recepción como por
ejemplo en el cerco de una ventana, un
muro mediante chinchetas, etc.

En un área donde las señales FM son
deficientes, será necesario utilizar una
antena FM externa del tipo desequilibrado
de 75 ohms. Generalmente, una antena de 3
elementos es suficiente; si vive en un área
donde las señales FM son particularmente
débiles, será necesario utilizar una antena
con 5 o más elementos.
Una antena de 75Ωutiliza un cable coaxial y
debe ser conectada como a continuación:
primero pele el revestimiento del cable,
luego enrosque la cubierta de protección
del hilo de manera que el núcleo central y la
cubierta de protección puedan ser

The provided Remote Control Unit allows the
unit to be operated from a distance. 
When operating the remote control unit,
point it towards the REMOTE SENSOR on the
front panel of the unit.

within the effective range, remote control
operation may be impossible if there are
any obstacles between the unit and the
remote control.

If the remote control unit is operated near
other appliances which generate infrared
rays, or if other remote control devices
using infrared rays are used near the unit,
it may operate incorrectly. Conversely, the
other appliances may operate incorrectly.
Battery Installation
1Remove the battery compartment cover.
2Insert two “AA“ (R6, SUM-3) dry
batteries. Make sure that the batteries
are inserted with their positive “+
“ and
negative “_
“ poles positioned correctly.
3Close the cover.
Battery Replacement
If the distance required between the remote
control unit and main unit decreases, the
batteries are exhausted. In this case replace
the batteries with new ones.
