TOOLS for CMC is necessary when connecting the device to a computer, and consists of  “Yamaha USB-MIDI Driver” and 
“Steinberg CMC Applications.”
“Yamaha USB-MIDI Driver” allows communication between the device and a computer.
“Steinberg CMC Applications” consists of “Steinberg CMC Extension,” “Steinberg CMC-PD Editor” and “Steinberg CMC-QC 
Editor.” “Steinberg CMC Extension” allows you to link the device with Cubase. “Steinberg CMC-PD Editor”/ “Steinberg CMC-
QC Editor” allows you to edit various settings of CMC-PD/ CMC-QC on a connected computer.
The instructions on installing the TOOLS for CMC are the same as those applicable when installing this software by using the 
“TOOLS for CMC” CD-ROM supplied with the product (CMC-CH/CMC-FD/CMC-TP/CMC-PD/CMC-QC/CMC-AI). Refer to 
the operation manual included in the “TOOLS for CMC” CD-ROM.
To install this software, double-click “setup.exe” (for Windows) or “TOOLS for CMC.mpkg” (for Mac) in the compressed file that 
you have downloaded.
NOTE
• If the same software components have already been installed in your computer, you can use the same procedure as described in the installation 
instructions to update the software.
• If you do not have the operation manual, you can download it from the Steinberg website.
