CABLING AND THE MAIN DISTRIBUTION FRAME (MDF) 2.1 Connections between the central office (C.O.) lines, station instruments, external equipment, and KSU are made at the MDF. The MDF is made up of industry-standard, 66Ml-50-type terminal blocks and, depending on the type of installation, modular jack assemblies. KSU DESCRIPTION 3.1 The KSU performs the switching activities for the system, detects incoming calls, processes data- controlled features, and controls the interaction of station instruments, C.O. lines, and intercom chan- nels.
