Scanner resolution and color
If you are printing a scanned image, and the quality is not what you expected, you might have selected 
a resolution or color setting in th e scanner software that does not match your needs. Resolution and 
color affect the following features of scanned images: 
● Image clarity 
● Texture of gradations  (smooth or rough) 
● Scan time 
● File size 
Scanning resolution is measured in pixels per inch (ppi).

Cleaning the device
To clean the exterior
Use a soft, damp, lint-free cloth to wipe dust, smudges, and stains off of the exterior of the device.
To clean the scanner glass
Dirty glass, from fingerprints, smudges, hair, and so on, slows down performance and affects the 
accuracy of special features such as fit-to-page and copy.

2.Clean the white document lid backing by using a soft cloth or sponge that has been moistened with 
a mild soap and warm water.
3. Wash the backing gently to loosen debris; do not scrub the backing. 
4. Dry the backing by using a chamois or soft cloth.
CAUTION:Do not use paper-based wipes because they might scratch the backing.

Changing the print cartridge
1.Open the print-cartridge door.
2.Grasp the handle on the print cartridge and then pull the cartridge straight out to remove it. See 
the recycling information inside the print cartridge box.
3. Remove the new print cartridge from its packaging, remove the cover from the print cartridge, and 
then pull the tab straight out  to remove the sealing tape.

4.Insert the cartridge into the device until it is firmly in place.

CAUTION:If toner gets on your clothing, wipe it off with a dry cloth and wash the clothing in cold water.
