    About Call Transfer Rules
    CalltransferrulescontrolhowCiscoUnityConnectionhandlesincomingindirectcalls,whicharefromcallers
    whodonotdialyoudirectly(forexample,callerswhousethedirectorytoreachyou).Fordirectcalls—when
    outsidecallersorotherusersdialyourpersonalphonenumbertoreachyou—yourConnectiontransfersettings
    donotapply.
    Youcanchoosetoanswerindirectcalls,oryoucanhaveindirectcallsroutedimmediatelytovoicemail.
    Tosetupcalltransfersfordirectcallstoyourextension,talktoyourConnectionadministrator.Yourdesk
    phoneoreventhephonesystemthatyourorganizationusesmayoffertransferfeaturesthatyoucanuse
    tomanagedirectcalls.
    Tip
    Thethreecalltransferrulesandhowtheyworkaredescribedbelow.
    StandardTransferRule
    ThistransferruleisactiveduringthebusinesshoursthatyourConnectionadministratorspecifiedforyour
    organization.Ifnoothertransferrulesareturnedon,thestandardtransferruleisactivefornonbusinesshours
    aswell.
    Bydesign,thestandardtransferrulecannotbeturnedoff.
    AlternateTransferRule
    Turnonthistransferruleforaspecifictimeperiodwhenyouwanttooverridetheothertransferrules.For
    example,youmaywanttorouteallyourcallsimmediatelytovoicemailwhileyouareoutoftheofficeon
    vacationoryoumaywanttotransferyourcallstoadifferentextensionifyouaretemporarilyworkingfrom
    anotherlocation.
    Whenitisturnedon,thealternatetransferruleisalwaysactive.Itoverridesallothertransferrules.
