About Private Lists
Youcanuseprivateliststocreateyourowngroupsofvoicemessagerecipients.Whenyouaddressavoice
messagetooneofyourprivatelists,alloftherecipientsonthelistreceivethemessage.CiscoUnityConnection
providesseveralprivatelistsforyoutopersonalize.
Onlyyoucansendvoicemessagestoyourprivatelists.Youcandosobyusingthephonekeypadorvoice
commands.Youcannotsendmessagesfromyouremailapplicationtoyourprivatelists.
Creating Private Lists
YourCiscoUnityConnectionadministratorspecifiesthemaximumnumberofliststhatyoucanmanage.The
listsareprenumbered.Onceyouhaveaddednamestoalist,Connectionplaysthelistnumberasanidentification
whenyoumanageyourlists.
Althoughyoucancreateprivatelistsbyphone,itiseasiertodosointheMessagingAssistantwebtool.Tip

Changing the Members of Private Lists ThemaximumnumberofmembersthatyoucanaddtoaprivatelistisspecifiedbyyourCiscoUnityConnection administrator.Anyuserorsystemdistributionlistthatisincludedinthedirectorycanbeamemberofyour privatelists. DependingonhowConnectionissetupatyourorganization,youmaybeabletosendandrespondtomessages fromusersonremotevoicemessagingsystemswhoarenotinthedirectory.Ifso,youcanalsoincludethese users—knownasremotecontacts—inyourprivatelists. Ifyoutrytoaddauser,systemdistributionlist,orremotecontactthatisalreadyamemberoftheprivatelist, Connectiondoesnotaddthemembertothesamelistagain. Youcanaddmembersto,andreviewanddeletemembersfromyourprivatelists.
