ASSEMBLY AND CONNECTIONS2 - 2 Choosing a Location Place your machine on a flat, stable surface, such as a desk. Select a place that is free of vibration and shocks. Locate the machine near a telephone jack and a standard, grounded power outlet. Avoid placing your machine in a high-traffic area. Do not place near heaters, air conditioners, water, chemicals or refrigerators. Do not expose the machine to direct sunlight, excessive heat, moisture or dust. ASSEMBLY AND CONNECTIONS2 - 3 Assembly Installing the Drum Unit Assembly (with Toner Cartridge) 1Unpack the drum unit assembly, including the toner cartridge, and gently rock it from side to side five or six times to distribute the toner evenly inside the cartridge. To prevent damage to the drum, do not expose it to light for longer than a few minutes. 2Open the front cover of the machine. 3Insert the drum unit assembly into the machine. 4Close the front cover.
